i had my doubts about primevil whirl, but it looks brilliant!:sohappy: (or is my happiness really not about the ride - but just the fact that ak has got something else  )

Anyway, with the opening of this, we will see Dinosaur restored to its previous glory (the roughness was toned down)

How intense?- pretty bouncy if you are in a spinning car. My car didn't start spinning until about half through the ride, so I could really tell the difference.

Can you choose?- I guess you could ask the ride operator at the loading station... I'll have to check on this.

That's the way it works. Its doesn't start to spin until half way through, and they all are supposed to spin. It's controlled by the ride system

For all the Nay Sayers, I said to wait and see the Attraction before you whinned about it so much. Now what do you think?
Does it need to be in a building and hidden or is it themed well enough?

I have to say I was'nt too excited about PW, but the more I see it, it looks like a pretty fun time even though it is just a glorified carnival ride.

The most disappointing thing to me is the 48" height requirement. I really thought it was intended to be a "family-fun" attraction. Yet, it has the same restrictive height limitation as Rock n Roller Coaster.

Question for the thrill ride fanatics on this board - Does this attraction satisfy you as a thrill ride? It sure looks like it is the replacement for the Excavator.

do we know yet if BOTH sides of the coaster are 48"? I am wondering if the confusion over height requirement is coming from different requirements for EACH track.

Ie. One track has the spinning feature which makes it 48", the other is a non-spinner and is 42" ?????

Ahh, Steve, a nugget of hope you offer :). I hope that's true, that would be a very good call on the part of WDW.

Alberrisford, the Excavator was the rumored coaster that was to be part of Dinoland USA. I have read many different accounts of what it was supposed to be like. In any event, it seemed many folks were convinced that Dinoland would eventually be the home of a thrill coaster of some kind.

I just wondered if WDW is banking on Primeval Whirl to satisfy the thrillseekers. Hardly seems to fit the bill. Yet, if it turns out that all of PW is a 48" attraction, then it's not really a family fun coaster either. So what is it? Not thrilling enough for the thrill crowd, yet too restrictive for the entire family to enjoy together.

We all know that this ride will be popular because it is a roller coaster with theming. People will like it and run to it first as well, so that means shorter lines at the safari maybe.

I guess it's wishful thinking on my part.
