Prime Time Cafe

I would like to know what everyone thinks about the Prime Time Cafe. I have read that it is fun to go, but only order dessert since the food isn't that great. It sounds like the staff makes the visit a lot of fun. I am not especially interested in eating meatloaf and macroni & cheese. I have thought about booking a 3:00 or 4:00 time and just ordering dessert. Please tell me what you think.

If you don't fancy the peanut butter shake try the cookies and creme one that is scrumptious.

If you can eat luch in the prime time and then eat dinner in the Sci-Fi you must have one huge appetite I struggle with one restaurant meal a dat never mind two:hurl:

I've never eaten at 50's Prime Time due to the "show" that goes with the meal. Frankly, I like eating with my elbows on the table. I will agree with the Sci-Fi recommendation if only for dessert and a shake.

The cheesecake that ate NY (oreo cheesecake) and the cookies and cream shake are to die for.

Only 56 more days!

I wasn't thrilled with the food either but it was fun to go to. The menu was full of heavy, starchy food and I usually go for lighter fare. That being said, it is worthwhile at least once just to check out the inside and the cast members. It is especially cozy for those of us who miss our mothers. :)

Isn't it nice that everyone is entitled to their own opinion!!

I have been there once for lunch and enjoyed the food. I had the fried chicken which was delicious. But of course, I'm a southern girl, so that is just right for me!!

The cast members added to the individuality of the restaurant and I enjoyed looking at all the 50's memorabilia in the restaurant. It was a fun and enjoyable experience, which is what Disney is all about!!

Of course this is my opinion, but I would definitely go there again. And I go to Disney often!!:D :sohappy:

Well the food stinks and you have to eat your green beans b/c dad said so! You can't have your elbows on the table and you set your own table! The atmosphere is great (unlike the food) but Sci-Fi is still my favorite!

We have eaten at the 50PTC at lease seven times. It is fun and the CM's do a great job. However, they changes the menu last time we were there and they have removed some of our favorites. We will probably try a new place next time. If you have never been it is definitely worth the trip.

Best Fried Chicken around

As this post seemed to ramble off course, I will try to bring it back. The fried chicken, and all of their shakes are fantastic. Just make sure that if you don't like a certain thing, ask if it comes with your meal. My wife's brother is alergic to green beans (that's what he tells everyone), and our waiter made him eat them before we could leave. That was probably the first green thing to enter his stomach in years. He didn't even get sick, although we almost did, from laughing.

This is without a doubt the best restaurant in Disney-MGM, and it is a never miss for us.

Maybe it´s a cultural thing, but I don´t find funny and really dislike those restaurants in which the waiters get too involved and confident with the guests. I can only pass the b-day shows at Friday´s, and that´s about it... I would really be upset if a waiter forces me to eat something I don´t like or make me set the table or yell at me for putting my elbows on the table (which I don´t do anywyas...). If they make me eat something I don´t like, I would puke on their shoes, and don´t pay!... ;)

Funny, but then again not!

You know, the whole idea of 50's Prime Time is that you are back eating in your mother's, or aunt's or grandma's kitchen. Think about it, what it was like when you were a kid, and you didn't eat your green beans. If you behave, it is a hilarious act. There is always someone in your small room that is bugging the waitress. They are rude, straigh forward and aren't afraid to make a fool of themselves. If you have the attitude that it isn't fun to do stuff like this, eat at Sci-Fi and get board to death with the repeating movie and grammer school food.

This is one of my family's favorite restaurants. My sister makes us go there everytime we go to WDW. I have even been with out my family and it was still a lot of fun. They have the best cast member there he was great. Have any of you guys who have been there had cousin Topher as your waiter? He is the best he made it worth while. I agree that it is not the best food on property but I think that it is the best atmosphere!

I have eaten at the Prime Time several times now. I love the atmosphere and the food, and I think the waiters do a great job of putting on and keeping the show element! The food is ALL so good I especially like the roast beef, and their green beans are GOOD! LOL! I usually like to teak a break for a ht sit down meal in the middle of the day, and I usually only eat once...I have had the Hollywood and Vine buffet too, and Sci-Fi...Sci-Fi bored me, and the food was not that great, and the movie trailer is way too repetitive. I was bored, and not impressed! I will say that my Favorite restaurant is Cinderella's Royal table...I go every year for my birthday! And the House Of Blues is great too!:)
