Price Increases?

I was just looking into a trip in late October or mid Novemeber and noticed that the room rates for a value resort are now $105! Now, I don't like to complain, but that is a rather significant price increase...and in this economy is rather disturbing. I know that with all the discounts they offer it really isn't that significant, but come on! Most of Disney's ammenities are rather lacking...only the transportation is really a benefit...the EMH can be negligible.

But what is strange is that for September the rates are $82 a night. Did I miss something or are they starting the busy season early? I just don't get it.

We stayed at POP last October, preferred room, for $111 a night, worked out to be about $124.00 a night with tax. So, 105 for November does not sound off to me at all.

Always wondered with Resort prices consistently increasing, will we see a category of Resort below Value?

There are some times of the year when the Value Rooms are 160/night and moderate rooms are 249/night plus tax. That's high, yes it is Christmas Week, but that is so high.

Disney charges what the market will pay... I don't think they'll ever create a "below" value category. That would involve building more resort rooms for lower return on investment.

There is a certain aspect of vacationing at WDW that must be factored in, it isn't going to be cheap.

No, WDW doesn't know how to build any hotels lately except for DVC resorts. Personally, I don't think we'll ever see any non-DVC resorts anymore.

What is your party size? Late October would be during Halloween and has an increase due to sell outs of MNSSHP. the time frame in which you are searching is the regular season and $105 is the base price.

Here is a link to the rate seasons. Value season resumes after Thanksgiving and ends at the start of October.

Hmmm...that's interesting. When I went last November I was charged Value season rates but also had the free dining offer. It just seems strange to me that they charge so much for the value resorts...I can get a nicer off-property hotel for less!
