we are going in september and booked through dollar. The regular rate on the website we are getting for a dodge neon is $97+tax. We find that just watching the websites every few days you can get a much lower rate. They seem to change daily. It's gone down $40 for the week since we started watching two months ago. We just make a reservation and cancel it if the price goes down.

Dodge Neon is a little small for me. The cars are getting smaller and smaller and America seems to be getting taller and taller. Soon, if you are 6 feet or over, you will have to have a truck or a luxury car to keep your knees from hitting the sterring wheel!

I have to be cautious on the cars I rent. Pretty safe bet that if it has a middle console, my knee will sit right against the squared edge of it redering me crippled for 20 minutes after getting out!

Checked into the possibility of extending our stay by one day. Need to rent from National or Alamo-so went in and changed our dates-Our $ went up by $75.00 today-funny thing is there is usually a $ difference between Alamo and National but today, with codes and coupons both came out to exactly the same $ to the penny.

Hi there!!!!
Did you modify or did you try an entirely new reservation? since I am obsessed, lol, I check daily and it is the same today as it was yesterday. Modifying usually makes the rate go up, who knows why, try a new reservation.

Looking for some advise! Here's my dilemma.

I currently have a rental for October for $320.00 (conv. 8 days, usings codes and coupons) for National.
We want to extend our rental by one day and the rate goes up to $397.
I did also thought about keeping current ressie and adding one day on
a separate one total works out to $386. (better but not great). If I did
this, would I have to come back to the rental desk, do a return and then re-rent the same car for a day or do you think they would just carrying on the reservation for all 9 days.

I did the same for Alamo (since they share a desk at the Dolphin), Full 9
days works out to $397-but their one day rate comes down to $54.

So if I were to keep the 8 day $320 ressie with National and do a one day with Alamo, my total would be $374. Then I'm pretty sure I would have to do a return and a re-rent since I'm changing companies (sort of).

Anyone have any experience/advice on this?
