Pressed Pennies

Does anyone else collect pressed pennies? I have a book and a half filled up. I think i have almost every single one from MGM. My favorite is the one i got from Old Key West which is of the lion king. Also if you do collect them tell me your favorite, please. Thanks

My cousin and I got alot of those on our last trip! We bought a book for them too. I think they are great souvenirs that don't cost too much. My favorite of mine is probably from Epcot and it has Spaceship Earth on it.

I am thinking of collecting Pressed Pennies on my next trip to WDW in July. Does anyone know of a site that lists where all of the machines are????? I would really appreciate it!

When I was at MGM, the park that I first started collecting at, a CM saw me getting the pennies and she wrote down the stores that there in. At MK I went to the Town Hall and one of the ladies circled the locations for me. So just ask at the parks "Town Hall" type place. Also you can go up to a cashier and trade in dirty pennies for shiny ones. If you cant do that you can use an eraser to clean them off. Also they now have 100th anniversary quarter presses, the book for those tell you the locations. There are also penny presses at Downtown Disney. They are the old hand crank style, so go slowly so you dont smush it.

I too have recently started collecting. My favorite is the Carnotaurus from Dinoland @ AK. What really stinks is not being able to find all the ones I bought before I started collecting them. I know I have at least 10-15 more hiding somewhere ! Does anyone know if they ever change whats in the individual machines or are they always the same ? I mean if I go back to PotC 6 months from now are the same three designs going to be in that machine ?

The ones at the Rainforest Café is also hand powered (with a crank) That was hard, I didn't even get the one that I wanted, but I'm not complainin'

We started collecting a few on our last trip. I think that if you go to guest relations in the parks they can give you a master list of where the machines are located so you can find the more hidden ones...and this way you can't miss any.

I don't have mine in a book...I usually get them to add to my Disney scrapbooks. When I do a page on an individual land or area, I'll add the penny from that section to that page. It dresses it up a bit & keeps them all safe. I'm thinking that I may get a book for my extras on my next trip though. I think my favorite is a quarter press of Mickey from ASMu.

I have a full list somewhere here.....if you ask for a complete list in the gift store in Adventureland, that is near the tree in MK. they will give you one i cant think of the stores name...

I have two pressed coins - one is a quarter, from the 25th anniversary celebration, and the other is - OF COURSE! - a penny with FIGMENT on it! (Can't remember what year I got the Figment penny, but I think it was at least 3 years ago.)

I don't collect them, but can't resist getting them. I actually have two in my purse right now that I have been carrying around since my trip Orlando this past December. One is from EPCOT and one from Universal.

My 7 year old daughter loves collecting these - we save the shiny pennies for her. Her favourites are the Peter Pan ones - I can't remember where they came from!

my mum is a big fan of these. but her obsession doesnt stop there she also gets them at universal( which isnt that bad as it still a themepark) but at the malls like at bells were there is shop that has 4 machines and she will steal are change just to get them.

Thanks for mentioning the books, I didn't know about them. My "collection" is just loose in a drawer. I'll look for the books this next trip (four more weeks!)

I guess I kinda collect these. I have around 30 or so. I think my favorite is my Sorceror Mickey 25th Anniversary pressed quarter. I know it's not a penny, but it's the same idea, right?:animwink:
