Who has your favourite cameo role, or gives the best performance, in pre-show or attraction film footage?
For me, it has to be Michael 'Kramer' Richards as a caveman freaked out by fire in Future Word's Energy Adventure. Ellen de Generes is pretty spot on too - 'stupid Judy'. Bill Nye science guy is okay, and manages to whip the Larry Sanders dude he appears alongside in Dinosaur. It cracked me up when I first rode it and Phyliccia Rashad was in charge of my safety. I thought she just made sure her doctor husband didn't eat hogies with a blue cheese dressing upon returning from seeing one of 73 grandparents who are jazz musicians.
Gary Sinise in mission space does the trick. Perfect casting. He will always get a salute from me, the engineer in row two.
At what point do you think attraction celebrities need an update in a Captain Eo stylee. It's sad to think of Martin Short no longer looking at his grandparents (non-jazz musicians) in a ______, but how long will equally 80s Elizabeth Shue hang around while kids wonder who it is. Does it matter?
I sooooo used to love Robin Williams on the old animation tour:'It's like being in the presence of Barbara Streisand'.
Conversely, I'm not a fan of Eric Idle's performance in Honey at Epcot. I don't know why; I think his nostrils frighten me. And I find Jeremy Irons a bit embarassing in Timekeeper. But at least WDW doesn't have anything so embarassing as the unbearable talking heads in the line for Twister at Universal. Puke!
