Hey Gang, this may or may not belong here as it has to do with hotels, but they bookend my cruise. So here goes. I'm a DVC Member with a home resort of SSR. I have a day booked there on either end of my upcoming cruise. We will be taking my to be ten month old twins and not renting a car. That being said, we have never stayed at VWL (which is available) and BLT, BCV, AKKV, and BWV are all available. VWL is the only place we haven't stayed. Any suggestions on keeping SSR for one day and choosing another property, or getting two different hotels. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I think a one night stay before/after the cruise is a great way to try out a new resort! Especially the night after the cruise as you will be at the resort fairly early and will have time to explore.

I have never stayed at the WL, but I would think that it would be a nice contrast to a tropical cruise.

The only reason why a larger resort (VWL has very few rooms) would be preferable would be that your chances of getting a room earlier than the usual check-in time would be bigger and with the kids you might like to have a room as early as possible.

We're doing something similar in January. 2 nights at AKKV before the cruise, 3 at BW afterward. Last Feb we did a couple days at AKJH before and one night at PopC afterward before flying home.

On a related note: not sure if you've arranged transport yet, but highly recommend chartered transportation over DCL's transportation.
