Thank you! I am in the Austin area so it's not as bad. It's been raining NON STOP. I'm surprised we are not flooded yet; however, my friends and family in the Houston area are getting hit hard! It is a very bad situation for them. Houston floods so easy already and it won't stop raining, not to mention the tornadoes! So on behalf of my fellow Texans, thank you, we need all the prayers we can get.

My parents live in Katy and they got a few inches of standing water in the house last night. Power went out for about 30 minutes earlier in the day and came back on. There was a controlled release of a reservoir is the middle of the night but not sure if that affected them yet. I live in College Station and it's been raining non stop for 2 days but no flooding on my street yet. Haven't left the house in over 24 hours so not sure what the roads look like now.

Rainwater is getting through one of my air vents in my bathroom. I already called maintenance and they got on the roof and re sealed the vent but it's been happening again. I called and they said there wasn't anything they can do about it while it's still raining, so they brought me a bucket and a towel. Hopefully it gets fixed soon because my bathroom is soaking wet. My classes are cancelled until Wednesday so hopefully we will be out of the storms path by then.

Praying for everyone affected

If everyone donates a minimum of $20 to their preferred organization it could make a huge difference.
The flooded areas will be in recovery for a long time to come. Heartbreaking to see.

Our pastor led the church in a prayer for Texas at yesterday, and we will continue to pray and send good thoughts. America is behind you Texas!

I grew up in Houston and my entire family and lots of friends are in the Houston/Katy/Cypress and Friendswood areas. My mom lives in Settler's Village of off 529. So far they are all ok and no one is flooded out, but it's getting close. They are all stranded at home as well. I'm in Austin and we are fine. In fact, I am at work and things are normal.

Stay safe! My family is in Spring. Thank goodness no water in their house, but it has come close. The rain just needs to stop and give the people of Texas some relief. I am worried about my son getting back to his house and family. He has been out rescuing people all day. Hope his roads are opened.

There were people with boats driving around our neighborhood so my mom and brother evacuated with our dog and went to my grandmas house a couple miles away because her house is still dry. My dad decided to stay behind to watch over the house. There is still water in the house and it isn't going down but supposedly the worst is over.
So heartbroken that this happened to my childhood home but so thankful that everyone is okay.

So sorry for your parents, but thank goodness they are o.k., despite this horrible flood. My heart also goes out to you, for seeing the damage to your childhood home.

Oh I'm so sorry for them. I've been flooded twice. Thankfully only my basement and not our living quarters, but it ain't fun.
