Prank Forces Cirque Du Soleil Evacuation

ORLANDO (WKMG.com) -- Several people were evacuated from Downtown Disney's Cirque Du Soleil attrac-tion Tuesday in an apparent public phone prank involving pepper spray. A woman reportedly complained of a burning sensation minutes after using a pay phone outside of the Cirque Du Soleil building. Officials said that 10 people were immediately evacuated from the building's gift shop and Reedy Creek emergency officials re-sponded. After an investigation, authorities discovered that someone put pepper spray on the phone receiver. There were no other substances found on any of the buildings other phones. Legendary Disney animator Ward Kimball dies at 88; worked on Mickey Mouse, Jiminy Cricket
Tue Jul 9, 8:57 AM ET

ARCADIA, California - Animator Ward Kimball, who became one of Walt Disney's trusted "Nine Old Men" and helped develop or refine such characters as Mickey Mouse and Jiminy Cricket, has died. He was 88.

Kimball died of natural causes Monday at Arcadia Methodist Hospital, said Howard E. Green of Disney's Buena Vista Pictures Marketing.

Kimball, who joined the Disney organization in 1934, animated or served as directing animator on such classics as "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," "Pinocchio," "Fantasia" and "Peter Pan."

The top animators hand-picked by Disney to work on his classics during this era became known as the "Nine Old Men." Disney sought to improve his cartoons by having the animators attend seminars, take art classes and analyze movement by studying live action films and earlier cartoons.

Wow,
Thanks for that.

:( :( :(

Ward Kimball was more than just a Disney guy to me. He also has one of the largest and most complete toy train collections on the planet. I have a signed boxcar that he designed for the 1973 Toy Train Operating Society convention at the Disneyland Hotel. He was a big influence on me when I started professiionally designing operating layouts. As Ward himself used to say, "He who dies with the most toys wins"

Ward is a definate winner.
