POTC Pirate Training Academy

Caught wind of an interesting rumor about a Pirate type training academy...themed after Captain Barbossa for the parks. My sources described it as the Jedi training academy meets the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (where boys can now spend their parents money on dressing up like a pirate and then go through a pirate training session with Barbossa and his crew). Has anyone heard if this is coming to WDW? Is this just planned for DL?

Hey if it adds to kids' experiences at the world...and makes Disney some money in the process (probably a lot, maybe not as much as the princess thing though) so we can get cool attractions....who cares? :lookaroun:lol:

They said the location would be Adventureland!!! As for CThaddeus' comments, bitter but funny...we should reflect more on what Shaman said. If you think about it, boys are kinda left out at the Magic Kingdom. You have tons of these lil girls running around in princess garb and the boys well...they have nothing. I think it's a cool idea to be honest and I can see the thought behind this idea....the BBB has made a ton of money for the parks and I can only imagine this would do the same. CThaddeus does have a good idea for the Indy themed personalized experience, however. I know I'd be down in a heart beat! LOL!!! As for using the word "Academy" in the name title it was only a way for me to relate the experience for you guys based on an experience that is similar. The name of the experience isn't "POTC Pirate Training Academy".

I know that Disney had a Barbosa face character in the MNSSHP parade and according to a CM I spoke with there were rumblings of using Barbosa in the parks. This could be what he/she was eluding to.

Hmm. Interesting. The name of "PotC Pirate Training Academy" makes it sound like Barbossa will be added to the Pirate Turtorial done at the parks, but a male version of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique seems plausible.

When I was a kid I would have rather dressed up as a pirate than a princess . I have a twin brother, so growing up I spent just as much time playing Barbie with my sister as I did superfriends or He-Man (Marvel and DC - always separate, LOL) with my brother.

There's a "famous" picture in my family of my brother and I on our first trip to WDW (we were 5). I'm laying on the edge of the fountain by the POTC store, and my brother's standing on the edge, holding a POTC-purchased sword over my chest (we're both decked out in pirate hats and eye patches). Good times...

Anyway, neat rumor!
