POTC Movie Question

Hello,

I finally saw POTC this week. I know, like what took so long. Well, since my daughter was born we only get out to see a movie a handful of times or less a year. So we never got to see it. We got the DVD for Christmas and watched it last week.

First, it was better than I expected - and from what I read it was great and had high hopes to begin with. So I really enjoyed it.

My question is this: At the end of the scene where the Black Pearl attacks the town and takes Elizabeth (is that her name?), they pan away from the jail exterior and the fog clears and the moon comes out. There is an explosion and a puff of smoke comes up. Did anyone else see a hidden Mickey in the smoke? I played it twice and I am 99% sure there was. Just wondered if I was right.

Thanks,
Mike

I just watched POTC tonight and didn't see it. But I do know what part of the movie you're talking about! (And yes, her name's Elizabeth). I'll have to watch it to look for it!

Yes, you are correct! There is a hidden mickey in the plume of smoke. For those looking to see it, it's just after the other guys in the jail are freed, and are running away. :)

Great eyes! I never would have thought to look for a hidden Mickey in a movie.

I've only seen two that I can remember. That one and one in bugs life. At the end of the movie when the "warrior bugs" fly off, the large beeltle with the horn on his face forms a hidden mickey with his body and wings.

Really good movie. I will look for the hidden Mickey next time.

On a seperate note, we bought Treasure Planet when it first came out in DVD and have not watched it yet. Is it any good?

From what I have read from most people, they did not like it.

I loved it and in my opinion, it was one of the better Disney Animated films in a years.

I did not notice the hidden Mickey as I watched it, but when looking at it with the writer's commenty they pointed it out then.

Be sure to check out the deleted scenes on the DVD there are a couple more ride references on it.
