I suppose its entirely possible since once the curse was ended none of the pirates actually died (accept Barbossa who was shot). So, why not? I suppose its perfectly possible that old Bootstrap could still be alive.

*has a spaz attack*

Unfourtunatly all films have flaws, it's the nature of the beast, and most flaws are due to continunity errors, some films have more obvious mistakes than others, as well as some people pick-up on the mistakes more than others . Being a Cenima buff I have my eye tuned to the errors.

A films flaws are only as preventable as a top notch continunity editors ability and the directors eye for the details, The situation exists because Films are rarly if ever shot in sequence and the continunity editor is resopnsible to make sure an actors look the same in the the action when they have to change angles or locations. Action films are the more difficult to get the continiuty to match from angle to angle or POV to POV.

The factual errors really come mostly from the interpetation of the material. if it's more reality based like TPotC you may have you own opinion of the story line since you are pre disposed on information on pirates weather it be accurate info or not. While in a fantasy film you need sometimes to suspend disbelifewhile the writer or director saw it another way so his factualy errors are very subjective

FYI

Some of the most obvous film flaws of recent films are Stripes where Bill Murrary and Harold ramis are betting on the push ups and when Murrary wins Ramis tosses three singles on his chest then when the shot cuts to Ramis and then back to Murrary the Bills are still on Murrarys chest but the bills are fliped over and arranged diffrently, Thats a very sloppy error, the other is Bruce Willis' Tank tee, some how between the Gear room and exiting the duct after Claus shoots up the duct work, willis' shirt changes from white to a dark grey. On the DVD the directors commentary the director exclaimsthatalmost everyone he has encountered had made mention of the color change and the directors reasoning on the change seemed to not be plausable to how the sceens edited together

Geez, you all are being way too nit-picky and making up things that aren't even there.

The answer to your question about "boot-strap" being dead is simple. He was never cursed, because he did not personally take any of the gold.

I agree with Mickey04. If Bootstrap wasn't cursed, most of the plot of the movie caves in.

Not to mention the fact that IF Bootstrap was cursed and did survive, it makes a great Revenge angle for a sequel.

Now that I think about it... many of the Pirates in Swiss Family Robinson kept getting killed then reappearing over and over in the battle scenes. Maybe they were cursed.... :lookaroun

So there is a curse. That's interesting. That's very interesting. (Sorry I couldn't resist, mate.)
