Don't know why, but I was waiting for the hats to be added back one day.
note: sorry for the pics looking like they are from 1980, they were taken last weekend. I had to enhance them since they were dark

I was just on POTC a couple hours ago and the hats are not there again. If I had my camera I would have taken a picture. It seems like they are playing a horrible joke on us. One day he has all his hats and then the next no more hats.

In all seriousness, could it be possible that they are not anchored properly to the AA and they keep falling off into the water and have to be dried? Just a thought. :shrug:

My girlfriend did notice while riding on Saturday night that his head doesn't sway nearly as much as it used to? Though i don't know if it just appeared that way because he no longer had the hats on to amplify the motion.

Why are they having so much trouble with this btw? Was there always trouble with him in the past? I dont remember hearing of any problems...only with the pirate who hold the torch with his arm outstretched...

it seems like they are experimenting with this effect.. I've seen 3 different hat configs in the last few weeks.,... one as pictured above, one with only 2-3 hats, and finally, the same as above, only missing the two smallest hats above..

Hey, it's nice to see they are working on the effect at least.. They were gone from the AA for over a year.

I hope that he can find more hats to steal while I'm on my June trip. Heck, I'll buy him some from the gift shop if he wants them.

We were on Pirates Thursday... my six year old noticed the hats were missing after they had been there a few days prior. Even more entertaining though, was the light bulb box someone left under the first donkey on the right hand side after changing one of the spotlights somewhere in that scene...

I am always so surprised when people notice the tiniest details, like a lightbulb box or something. But I guess if you are familiar enough with a ride, then you'll notice anything different.

We do go on pirates alot, about 5 times this trip alone... however, the light bulb box was sitting at the waters edge. I was torn between wanting to let a CM know so they could go get it, and not wanting to get anyone in trouble for leaving it there or causing the ride to be shut down (if they shut it down for stuff like that) so I didn't say anything when I got off...
CM'S - should I have?

Well last I checked they didn't have lightbulbs back during the 1600 and 1700's when pirates were roaming the Caribbean. So one would think that a box of lightbulbs would sort of stick out in an attraction about pirates. :rolleyes:
