PotC Down for Days

Its odd because I was there the duration you were and never once encountered a broke ride of broke down while riding...ever. I'm not saying your a liar just amazing the different experiences one can have.
Speaking of this..

We had lots of issue during our recent trip last thanksgiving as well.. FoP was running one side. Splash was down all day only to open up during the Christmas Party. Space Mountain was down an entire evening as well. People mover was down. Issues with Rock & Roller Coaster caused us to miss our ride and a bunch of others on and off throughout the week. With that and the theme park hours being cut back for parties it really felt "off" as well.

I was there the Thurs/Fri before Thanksgiving, went to 3 Parks on that Friday. 0 Rides closed, 0 issues.

I’ll repeat what was said above, I’m not saying that you’re lying, just that I had a very different experience during a similar time.

Just returned from a trip that ended on May 1st. Was affected by the Pandora issues which was very frustrating. However, what was more frustrating was the frequency of other rides going down. People mover went down at least 3 times when we were in line for it. We got to ride Splash Mountain, however the entire ride was "off" for lack of a better word. No song, all animatronics were not operating, just an entire ride of nothing. We mentioned to the CM assuming they would never send people on the ride knowing it was down, but they said they knew. Dinosaur was down frequently during our trip. Journey into Imagination was not down, but certain elements didn't seem to be working. I believe Test Track was also down for a significant period of time on our Epcot day. However, we didn't experience any issues with Pirates and I was pleasantly surprised by the new scene. We had already seen in Paris, but couldn't understand the dialogue.

I really enjoyed the trip, but agree with a comment a family member made that "we pay a lot of money for so many things to not be working." The trip was designed to get to see Pandora and that basically just turned into a headache. It felt over and over that the magic is gone a bit and we will likely vacation elsewhere for the next few years.
Must have just been an off week. I was there the week of the 15th and only experienced two attractions being down - Test Track for an hour (and that was because someone jumped out of the car mid ride and security had to shut it down), and Pirates one time for about 30 minuts. Everything else was open every time I wanted to ride it.

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
I was at MK on Tuesday. It broke down about 4 or 5 times. We were waiting in line for it. We got to the dock. The lights eventually turned on. Interesting experience.

We left the queue and got a free FP+ Loaded onto MDE. We used it for Princess Fairytale Hall, and then we came back to Pirates and got to ride it that night.

Figures, I hit MK on Wednesday. Kaputski, all day and night from what I saw... And it was an EMH day until midnight.

Finally got to ride PotC today (and only a 35m stand-by, wow). Happy to report that not only was it running, but ALL EFFECTS as well. Cannonball splashes, puffs of air, mist, smoke scent. Seemed a bit "wetter" than usual too, between the drop off and cannonball splashes. Bravo. đź‘Ť

Good to hear - with no splashes or mist and how bright the ship attack scene is these days, it was REALLY lackluster when I rode in January. I didn't even do it again it was so bad. Normally I'll hit that any day I'm in MK but it was super disappointing so I just did it the one time.

I went on Splash and then PotC back to back a few days ago. I think I actually got more wet on Pirates. Those cannonballs nailed our boat twice.

I also made sure I looked away from the picture flash. I think I lost a few rods and cones last time.

Oh HECK yes! Especially if it could be used to upgrade the battle-at-sea area. It's the most dated-looking part of the ride IMO.

I watched the YouTube video of Shanghai's Pirates for the umpteenth time. So awesome. The blending of the screens as well as the physical sets makes one really wish that WDW would add something similar here. They could put it into DHS and it would be different enough from PoTC that it could stand on its own merit. Then, bring in Mystic Manor for good measure. Find a movie to blend into DHS and go with it.
