POTC: Dead Mans Chest

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is now offically rated PG-13 for "Intense sequences of adventure violence, including frightening images".

This makes POTC: DMC the second film ever released under the Walt Disney Pictures banner to carry a PG-13 rating. The other of course being POTC: Curse of the Black Pearl for "Action/adventure violence"

Wow, that sounds great. "Intense sequences of adventure violence, including frightening images," compared to the last film's "adventure/ action violence." This is getting me VERY excited! :sohappy: :sohappy:

That's interesting. I was not aware that the HM film had a different rating in Europe. In North America, HM was rated PG. After the first Pirates received the rating of PG-13 despite Disney execs wanting the film to be PG, nearly all reference of the film being released by Walt Disney Pictures was removed from any new promotional material made, from the movie's website and the beginning of the film itself. In fact, the only reference to it being a WDP film was placed at the end of the credits. I imagine that was in fear of the preconceived notion that only G or PG rated films could fall under the "family" image the WDP banner had up to the point. With Pirates going on to gross more than any other live action film released by any division of the WDC, they have made sure that everyone knows that POTC is a WDP film this time around....not like many didn't know the source of the material anyway.

Well I'm over 13 so any rating is fine with me! As long as I can see it, I'll be a happy camper...and we don't have too much longer to go!
