Rode Pirates yesterday and heard a voiceover I'd never noticed before, did they add a line from the movie already? Just after the hill as you are leaving the darkness and entering the battle between the ship and fort I heard what sounded like Capt. Barbarosa's line about "don't belive in curses, properly warned ye be." Was it always there and they used it in the movie, or did they add it recently? It's really easy to miss since everybody is still settling after the drop and the sounds of the battle are approaching.

Hey -
Those words have been in the ride all along. I think the actually words are:

No fear have ye of evil curses, says you? Arrrgh... Properly warned ye be, says I. Who knows when that evil curse will strike the greedy beholders of this bewitched treasure? Dead men tell no tales!

Arrrgh matey. I still notice things on that ride I haven't heard or seen before even after all these years.

One of my favorite lines, and definitely not new. (Well, not the line itself, anyway. I can't speak to the current recording of it.)

Nope, he's always been there. Often you the other guy instead ("These might be the last friendly words you hear") You only hear him properly if your fall is timed right. Otherwise he starts talking and you're already out of the cave.

I know he says, No fear have ye of evil curses says you...arrr? Properly warned you be says I...

He might say more but that's as much as I've ever heard him say.

The line makes absolutely no sense because nothing in the ride would lead you to believe that there is a curse. Its more like pirates just pillaging a village.

Actually, I think it ties into the skeletons in the cave scene. They died with their treasure. The skeleton at the wheel implies something horrible too - like he may not even be truly dead.

In those days, being pillaged by pirates was a curse.....

I've heard (although I've never been on it) that the DL Pirates fleshes out that curse theme a little more. They may have just imported that element w/o the rest of the story.

P.S.: I'm still reading HBP. Your avatar and sig are taunting me, with their possible spoilage. :p

I recognized another phrase from the ride that made it to the movie: ".. ya bloomin' cockeroachers.."
I recognized that one when I saw the movie too. I wonder if they are going to use more scenes from the ride in the sequal?

There are a bumload of similarities... When I did a walkthrough with some CM friends one night (under the condition I took them through HM), I noted alot of things that are quite hard to see when just riding through.

Can you elaborate? Please. :)
