The boat that was built for the 1962 movie "Mutiny on the Bounty'' was also one of the boats used in "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl",
Well, it struck the Lake Shore Drive bridge yesterday here in Chicago, snapping and breaking the masts... I saw this as it happed. :( But they can fix it :)... If I find some pics of it (the accident)... I will post a link here :)

According to the Capitan on WGN yesterday morning they already had the replacement parts on board as part of the training mission of the boat, and he seemed more inclined to blame it on himself than anyone else.

Where did you hear that Bounty was in POTC? The Captain made no mention of it even though Spike mentioned POTC to him. As far as I know the only real ship in the movie was the Lady Washington, which was the Interceptor - Dauntless and the Black Pearl, to my knowledge, were built up barges created just for the movie.

Ah... that is odd... Cause I talked to some production people that worked on the movie and I was told different...

And a family member of David Bailie http://us.imdb.com/Name?Bailie, David told me the ship was used in the movie as well :)

Maybe it was in the background somewhere, but it wasn't one of the main three.

"There are three ships in the movie — the HMS Interceptor, the HMS Dauntless and the Black Pearl. The Lady played the Interceptor and was the only complete, seaworthy vessel, said Les Bolton, executive director of the Seaport Authority here. The other two were partial boats, sets for the film."
