Hi everyone,
Looking for input/ advice on a possible trip in December. Considering a quick trip for a couple of days getaway before holidays. I k ow this will be right after ROTR opens and wondering what do you think crowd levels will be like? Almost every crowd calendar I’ve checked is different. Judging by Disney’s website it appears to be a very busy time as they are only showing GF, and Poly as being available the past couple of days when I’ve checked. This leads me to consider the possibility of staying in one of the “good neighbor hotels”. Has anyone stayed in these hotels recently? What was your experience like? Do the good neighbor hotels benefit from EMH/ FastPass? I’ve never stayed off Disney property before in over 50 visits and really hate to do it this time but $950 per night( current displayed available rate) for a hotel room at GF or Poly is a little outrageous imo, especially since I am also planning a surprise trip for my mom 60th next year and plan to really blow it out then. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I Second the Swan/Dolphin and just in case you checked on Disney's site and didn't see availability, you can book directly through Marriott (if calling also didn't work). I literally did this for a client a couple days ago for a super last minute trip. The crowds that time of year feel more intense at night around show times, but the joy of Disney at Christmas time is always worth it to me!
PS Mother daughter trips are the best! Love it!!

Do it. That was the time we always did our trips. Most of the time it was manageable. Now we go when the airfare is cheap and our schedules allow. We're planning a trip now for 11/19 - 11/23. We stay in a condo in Kissimmee most of the time. The owner knows us well so we generally pay $55 per night for a three bedroom/two bath in a gated community. We are DVC members, but we pool our points to use every other year.
