Possible May 2013 trip tips?

OK, so we were not intending a WDW trip this summer but, our aunt offered us 30 DVC points that need to be used by August or she'll lose them. From the looks of things, it may only be enough to cover 1 night at a DVC resort since we have a family of 5. Does anyone have any tips on using the points in the wisest way possible to get the most bang for the buck? This trip will most likely be doubling as a vacation/retirement present to myself! LOL Just got approved for my medical retirement from the Air Force!

How about a few nights at AoA suite followed by a night at BLT! A short out of pocket trip to make it worth the trip! Sound like you have something to celebrate! Also see what shades of green has to offer!

I am not 100% sure, but I seem to remember that OKW can stretch the occupancy of a studio to 5. If that is correct, your 30 points will go the farthest there. Otherwise you will have to get at least a 1 bed room.

Have you checked availability yet? This late in the game you may be limited as to what you can get. I would echo the recommendations for Shades of Green. We stayed there last August with my bro-in-law (Major in USAF) and his kids and the deal was amazing! 4 day park hoppers for something like $130 each! It's a very nice hotel for what you pay, largest rooms on property and it's right across from the Poly.

Thanks for all the tips, y'all. Availability is actually pretty good for what we're looking for. Shades of Green has the least! Military tix are $156 for the 4 day hopper, great deal! Disney takes really good care of us!
