My boyfriend and I are looking to book a very last minute trip July 21 - 27, so we are willing to stay anywhere but we cannot get over the price of Coronado Springs @ 185 a night. I am all for it (I can't sleep when it is dead quiet anyway), but my boyfriend is questioning it... so has anyone stayed there during the construction? How was it? Do you think it's worth it? Or should we just go for a value (we have never stayed at a value resort before) ? BIG EDIT: Is the gym still open during refurbishments? Because that is a big selling point for my boyfriend lol

I haven't stayed during the construction. Unless you plan on being at the resort during the day, it shouldn't be an issue. If memory serves, try to get Cabanas or Cassitas. They are closest to the main bus depot at El Centro which is the last depot before departing to the parks.

I stayed recently and the construction is so confined that it didn’t bother me at all. I never heard anything. Of course you can see it because it’s a high rise but I actually enjoyed seeing the progress that’s been made. I think for that price I would go for it in a heartbeat. And yes the gym was open when I was there. Have a great trip! The last minute trips often turn into some of the best for me.

We stayed there during the construction last year, didn't affect us one bit as it was done during the day when we were out at the parks. I really recommend it, a super relaxing resort and I feel like it's often less busy with children than the other hotels, since it gets overlooked due to it being a "convention resort" - made no difference to me other than seeing a couple of men in business suits :)

Stayed there twice during construction and noise wasn’t an issue, and I like things quiet when I sleep. Go and enjoy! It’s still really pretty, even with the construction. The refurbed room are also great.

I just got back from there a week ago today. I stayed in the Casitas section and wasn't bothered by any construction at all. Even while at the main pool I wasn't bothered, but I could hear a slight bit of the construction while at the pool it just didn't bother me. It looked to me like the gym was open, I walked past it and while no one was in there the lights were on and I didn't see any sign saying it was closed. I'm going back in a couple weeks and I wish I was staying here again.

We stayed there this past March in the Ranchos area and none of the construction affected us. One day, they were sanding the exterior walls near Pepper Market and that was a little loud and obnoxious. The construction in the lake was loud one of the days were were relaxing by the pool. But none of that was a negative during our trip and our room was very quiet. Especially at night. We usually stay at Riverside and switched over because we couldn't say no to the prices at Coronado. So glad we did! I thought the buses were better at Coronado than they were at Riverside.

Speaking of the new rooms, do you have to book preferred to get them? How does one go about getting a new room?!
I called and had them note on our reservation that we wanted a renovated room. Unfortunately when we got our room number texted to us, it wasn't a renovated room. We called and they got us moved.
