Possible First Solo Trip & ?s

I'm starting to look at prices for room, tickets & airfare for what might be my first solo trip this October. I would be going over my fall break at school & it would also be the weekend of my birthday (Oct. 11-14).
Before I book anything, I want to make sure I have everything straight.

I would most likely be flying Midwest. I know they don't participate in resort check in, but can I leave my luggage at the front desk or somewhere at the hotel if I'm on a later flight & want to go to the parks for the day before I leave for the airport?

I know dates for MVMCP have been announced, but have the dates for MNSSHP been announced? That's one of my favorite reasons for going in October.

Do many of the rides have single rider lines? I've never paid attention to which ones do or don't because I've always been there with my mom, so no need for single rider line.

Does anyone else have any other advice for me about solo trips? I'm turning 19 on Oct. 12 & I'll have an extremely tight budget.

Thanks in advance.

I took my first solo trip this past December and will be doing another one in May. I live in Georgia so I never fly, can't help you with any of those questions but I am sure someone here will.

MNSSHP dates:
  • September: 5, 9, 12, 16, 19, 23, 26, 28, 30
  • October: 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 13, 16, 19, 21, 23, 24, 26, 28, 30 and 31
As far as single rider lines you have RNRC and TT as far as I can remember those are the only rides with them.

I am a college student so I have one big tip for saving money. Normally when I go I will take a couple of bottles of Vitamin Water and a bottle of normal water into the parks with me. I drink the Vitamin water with my lunch and dinner, the regular water I drink all day long. I refill the water bottle at a water fountain. This saves you a ton of money when ever you figure in ever drink will cost you at least a couple of dollars. I also carry in small snacks with me so I won't be tempted to buy a churro or something. The one exception is the one Mickey Premium I buy every trip! :slurp:

You will love going on a solo trip. You have the freedom to do whatever you want. I also found out I park hop a lot more when I go solo than I ever did with people. Enjoy it, and if you have anymore questions I will try to answer them for you!

Thanks for your help. I'll definitely be taking bottled water with me to the parks as well as snacks. MNSSHP is the last night that I'd be there, so that would make my trip amazing.

Can anyone else help with my other questions?

Everest has a single rider line!! I wish I knew that a few weeks ago haha. You could also find they'll start asking for a single rider n the line so they can fill a car.
I went to Disneyland solo last year and would do WDW on my own any time. I had a great experience. I loved getting to do what I want and eat what I want whenever I wanted.
Yes when you check out of your hotel, you can leave your luggage with the front desk and they'll hang on to it for you til you leave for the airport.
My boyfriend and I brought water bottles with filters so we could refill at the water fountains and not have that horrible Florida water taste.

Are you sure? When I was there in Dec. they said they did not have a single rider line when I asked. They might not have been running it that morning or something and just told me that. I would really like to know for sure before I go in May though!

I've gone solo many times. I have no problem drinking Florida water from the water fountains, so I've saved money that way. I also am not a huge eater, so a sandwich packed in my backpack (from sandwich fixings in my room 'frig) works just fine for lunch for me. :D

I just found out I might be making a solo trip this year. If it actually happens I will be sooooooo happy. It is a dream of mine to be able to do what I want when I want and go on alllll the rides my family won't go on. I will only have about a day and a half (if it happens) but I will cram as much into those two days as I possibly can.

Thanks for everyone's help so far. I have everything priced out & now I just have to decide if I'm gonna go or not & if I can really afford it with my first tuition bill being due in a few months.
