Possible Competition

Hello All, I am relatively new here to the Imagineering Forum, and I have an imagineering competition loosely based on the show "Big Brother" that could be done here, I know I am no resident imagineer, but was wondering if I would be able to put on the competition? And if so, when would be the best time? As I would not like to impede on any other scheduled competition. Thanks for any help.

Welcome! Also, that sounds like a fantastic idea, I'd love to hear what you have planned! On the boards you could technically start up a competition whenever you'd like, but we usually have a tentative schedule that could always change.

Hi again! A refining of my concept left only a taste of big brother, but a lot more teamwork. Is anyone taking the Late October to Mid-December Timeslot? If so would I be able to use that time? I do not want to step on anyone's toes who is also trying to run a comp. Thanks in advance.
Well, this December we do the annual Elite Eight, which consists of the top eight point getters from the year. If you're willing to have your competition not count for points, all of December is free and could be a nice activity for those not participating in the Elite Eight.

But, I believe some on here have been thinking about opening up the year-end activity to more than just eight, so there may be more than eight not available.

EDIT: Also, space is completely correct, if you'd like to do it, there's no one stopping ya! ;):)

You're free to do whatever you'd like:)

I would just chat it over with @tcool123 and/or @deere839 as they both may have competitions around that time.

Speaking of that, is someone running that yet? Because we might want to discuss what that will be sooner rather than later.

Hmm... Is Just November and Late October open? there were a few expendable challenges, and twists I looked into that could move the game along faster.

Yeah, good point. Now that we don't have the Town Hall, we don't have a place to discuss it.

Whatever you think, haha. Like @spacemt354 said, just check with others that you won't be stepping on their toes. :)

Actually something short like Around the World in 30 Days did would be really fun for the fall, especially with everyone in school

For reference ATWI30 was run back in 2013 by @MonorailRed

Didn't know about that! Seems cool, and timeframe wise close to my plan!
@deere839 and @tcool123 aee either of your upcoming comps taking Late October- November? If not, I plan on making that the timeframe.

Just of of curiosity, I think if the concept is tweaked, maybe this could be a combination of solo comp and end of the year competition.. Start it a week or two in November, and close up shop on New Year's Eve.. That gives tcool his own slot.

@Magic Feather, thoughts?
As in use it to function as this year's version of the previously mentioned Elite Eight Comp? That could work, but I'd need more details as to how those types of comps are to be structured.

No, I think he means in addition, as an option for those not in the Elite Eight? I don't know, that's what I got out of it.

Yes in addition to the Elite Eight...As like a year-end bash

We tried something similar last year with "A Final Festivus" which ran alongside the Elite Eight, for new imagineers and people who didn't make it into the Elite Eight due to just joining the forums.

It was fairly successful, but our final project was never finished (due to the Christmas holiday)

If you were to do this I would recommend having small challenges and have it end before Christmas, just from experience last year:)
