Possible changes to Pirates/GMR planned??

Now I recall watching a show on The Travel Channel that was all about Disney Imagaineering (and I know it was VERY recently filmed), and during a segment on the building of animatronics, they showed two human figures (still in the wherehouse) having a swordfight and dressed in rather...piratey clothes...their attire looked similar to the clothes worn in the barn swordfight scene in the movie. So there MIGHT be some Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom-ness on Pirates. Personally, I'm just hoping that if these figures are in fact Johnny and Orlando's characters, they'll just stay in the background as sort of an added bit of fun for those who saw the film, and not dominate the ride. I mean, it's PIRATES of the Caribbean, not HANDSOME LEADING MEN of the Caribbean.

I am pretty positive those sword-fighting animatronics shown are already part of the Pirates ride at Disneyland Paris. If so, they aren't modeled from the movie. This is the kind of stuff I hope Eric Jacobson means when he says there is a lot they can do to update Pirates without changing it. Adding animatronics that move like that (animatronics with compliance) and scenes with them fighting with swords would be awesome!

The Godfather would be sick. Showing animatronics of James Caan, Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, and Robert Duval all sitting in his office talking about Solozzo, with the godfather waltz playing in the backround. OMG!

oh yea, the godfather would be cool....

but what could you put in there?

Sonny gettng gunned down at the toll booth? No...

Michael walking out of the resturaunt? No...

Fredo getting whacked in the boat while saying the Hail Mary? No...

The Congressional hearing where Michael is testifying? Maybe?

LOL all in good humor, dont blast me for that...

Anyway....

(all would be great ideas, but remember, this is disney?)

I love the outdoor scene where Don Corleone tells Michael that he (Michael) will be assassinated at the meeting. Brando is in the chair, drinking wine "I drink more wine than i used to..." "Its good for you pop..."

Or maybe a scene where they're kissing michael's pinky at the end of the first Godfather.

(I love the Godfather...I could quote it all day...of course my quotes may be wrong, just got home from working overnight..lol)

There are a lot of great scenes, many involve violence, but there are definitely a few that are memorable....

My fav scene which could play perfectly is the wedding reception during the part one...have the music playing, people dancing (like the wizard of oz scene at GMR) but the have the family picture being taken in the front with all of that in the background... (this way, you can have ALL of the characters....)

Just my two cents....

:drevil: :slurp: :hammer:  :p

It will never happen, Spielborg wouldn't let them (that's the reason why they couldn't make the Roger Rabbit rides they were planning).

Time for a little thread drift....

My suggestions for GMR additions

"Gone With the Wind"
"The Godfather"
"Titanic"

Anybody got any they would like to add?

There are some great ideas right there, infact they could use the wind part of fantasia and use it on titanic. and with the godfather, they can bring you up to the toll booth were sunny goes, and have 25 italain cast members come out with fake machine guns and start shooting. Ok, so i a little far fetch.

Also, i was reading somewhere that disney cannont clip a movie, and do a scene from a movie for more than 180 seconds(2 minutes) isant Wizard of oz longer than that??

Damn, that really sucks! I rode the one in Cali and was very impressed.. It could definately fit well in Florida!

...and by the way, thank you for that link to the Orlando Sentinel article! I really hope they go through with it!
