As for AK being a 1/4 day park, I'd have to totally disagree. Maybe if you have been there already and you just don't care to do certain things again, okay, but for a new person to the park it is a full day if you want to see it all...the 3 shows, 2 treks, Everest, Dinosaur, Safari, Kali River Rapids, Tough to be a Bug, and just enjoying the incredible surroundings. Personally, I'll spend more time at AK than DHS because I like looking at the animals and enjoying the meticulously detailed environments and lush habitats.

As I always say, to each their own.

But everything you just mentioned basically adds up to a half day park. If you've never seen it then yeah, I can see somebody spending a good 6 hours there, but for repeat guests, it doesn't have as much to keep you there. I would say nearly half the folks that come to Disney hardly care about the animal exhibits - at least from what I see and hear...and 99 percent of the guests will not sit there and enjoy the meticulously detailed environments and lush habitats. Americans especially, are very much the 'Go-go-go' mentality. Hit a ride, on to the next. Get into a show, jump to the next ride. Most people don't care to take time to admire their surroundings.

IF you want you can do AK in 1/4 to a 1/2 day doing everything i have done it. It not hard to be honest ended that day with well over 300 pictures of animals we looked at everything, the only thing we didnt do was the bird show and we could have just chose not to. AK is and will be for sometime a 1/2 day park. Personally and i know its like this for alot of my friends who are coming to visit this summer.....AK gets skipped instead of wasting time there...this didnt used to happen but is happening alot now!!!

Maybe there needs to be a probation period for the Noobs. For instance, After XXX number of posts they can start making new threads. But that might end up backfiring, allowing the Noobs to Spam post. What can you do?

Better yet they could have checkboxes when you create your account that say:

[ ] I will not create a new thread about a 5th theme park
[ ] I will not create a new thread about monorail expansion
[ ] I will not create a new thread about Beastly Kingdom

...and you have to check all the boxes before the create account button will enabled.

A half day, maybe, but everything in a 1/4 day is a ridiculous exaggeration. AK is typically only open for 9 - 10 hours, so if someone is going to tell me they are able to do all the shows, rides, and spend any time at the exhibits in 2.5 hours I am calling BS.

That said, of course I want to see more at this park. Another E-ticket is needed.

Exactly. Once you have seen a show once or twice - you have seen it. You may even be able to recite parts of it. This is seems to be the situation with both AK and especially HS. If they keep the same shows over ten years, eventually everyone has seen them and can cut that out of their itenerary. This chisels away at the amount of time in that park. Eventually, if all you care to experience are rides - well, you really can knock those out in a few hours and move on. And that's probably including lunch.

6 hours? Maybe if you were the only people in the park and you walked straight through everything never stopping to take a look. And why would you not want to enjoy what I feel is the highest detailed theming of all 4 parks. I just can't imagine only having 6 hours to enjoy all the animal exhibits and all the little details.

Ok, so now we are skipping shows and bulldozing through the park to get to rides. Using that logic, how is even Epcot a full-day park? I don't find that Epcot has that many re-ridable rides once you've done them all. How many times are you going on Universe of Energy? Gran Fiesta? JII? Even Mission Space is not terribly interesting. If the mentality here is rush to every ride and forget about all the theming (which is why I thought we preferred Disney to begin with) then I could see cruising through all the parks except Magic Kingdom in a half-day. Fact is many of us like to spend time at the countries/exhibits/shops, eating at the restaurants, and enjoying the atmosphere. If we were just going purely for rides, I'd rather go to AK than Epcot. I think most kids would even agree with that one.

I don't get why people freak out every time someone creates a new thread about a 5th gate or monorail expansion. Just tell them to do a search on the topic and move on...why all the snarky comments?

I don't understand why people even comment at all. Who cares?

I think this is an excellent idea. Also, someone should really look into the fact that President Bush eats kittens.
