Portable Chargers

Waste of money! You can get them at dollar tree (while not good quality) but to pay $30 for this, no. Try walmart, I was in there earlier and they sold them for $8.88. Check the kz (i think that is what its called). When buying a portable charger, you want a higher wattage.

This is not an apples to apples comparison. The device sold in the parks comes with a trade-in service. Yes the mAh on these is moderate but similar to other $8-15 chargers on the market. However for many you either need to upgrade to a larger battery in the $30-50 range or have 2 or 3 of the comparable chargers to get the same amount of time saved from a trade-in device.

I have two iPhones and wireless headphones with me in the parks. And I have to say for anyone that is going to be in the parks with that recharge need is going to get more that $30 worth of use out of it on the 3 swap. I've swapped mine out over 20 times since I bought it. (And my $120 Anker PowerCore can stay out of the elements.)

The key is that you are paying to always have a charged charger. Yes you can buy them cheaper elsewhere but they are not the same thing. At Disney you can constantly trade it in for a fresh charger. That's a sweet deal for $30.

Okay, so I guess my question now is, if you buy one say Monday you can swap it out for another on Monday and then swap it out again for a new one on Tuesday. You can just keep swapping?

Yup - that's the gimmick. It's a very small charger by market standards... but the value is in the trade in for a charged unit. You pay a premium for the benefit of not having to prepare your own. A 25 dollar one you buy from home would charge a big device at least 2-3x times without a recharge but then you have to charge overnight. This model works if you didn't plan ahead. Think of it as paying for a rental.... assuming you don't have a fuel rod near home :)

What mAh are they? I totally understand the convenience of being able to swap them out unlimited times. Especially for our upcoming March trip, we'll have about 25 people there on a family reunion so a few of us could buy these and just keep swapping when needed. We're Canadian so our phones are constantly roaming and switching between networks at WDW, which really drains them fast. Also, I used to take my DSLR to the parks every day but don't bother anymore (usually just one day each at MK and AK lately). I mostly use my phone for pictures now, draining the battery even more. This could be the answer!

I already have one backup charger with decent mAh, but it's a few years old now and takes about 8hrs to charge. It will charge my S6 Edge filly but only once, and it's bulkier than these bullet type ones.

Very interested.
