Just booked a 3 night stay at Riverside. I thought about Pop Century but went with Riverside. Anybody stayed there recently who can give me some feedback? Thanks!!

It's my favorite moderate - beautiful grounds and theming, lots to do, and a great sit-down restaurant! When are you going?

We prefer to stay on the mansions side - you can request it when you make the reservation (but they cannot guarentee it)

How is Riverside with regards to kids? My impression is that they don't have all of the fun stuff to do like the value and deluxes have .. maybe I'm wrong, dunno.

I am a regular guest at Riverside, usually once every six weeks or so, and have been staying there for many years (since the resort was known as Dixie Landings). Next trip starts in 3 hours for 4 nights! This resort offers a full service restaurant in addition to the food court and late night pizza service, one of the best pool bars on property, quiet pools aside from the main themed pool, live entertainment Wed thru Sat in the River Roost lounge, suitable for kids of all ages, horse drawn carriage rides, boat service to downtown Disney and more. The resort has much more to offer (although not the high-end concierge treatment) than the value resorts and is close to just about everything except AK. You should have a great stay!

The main pool is great with a really fun slide. On certain nights there is a piano player in the main building who is fantastic - lots of audience participation, particularly with kids. There are also boat rentals and a carriage ride, and a boat that takes you to DTD.

Just to be clear, I wasn't questioning the quality of the resort, just making an observation about POR from what I have researched. I'll check it out a little more!
