Port Orleans French Quarter

Well bit of sore point with us that question. Riverside has a bar and you will be able to get a seat Sunday to Tuesday , no problem. But from Wednesday to Saturday Bob is on and the bar gets packed with mainly the free mug brigade, and those wanting to buy drinks have nowhere to sit. He does have a break about 10:15pm when some people do go and some seats are available if you are quick. We started going to the French Quarter when Bob was on. The bar there is smaller but there was always plenty of seats. They use to have a jazz artist on but I think they finished him and now have no entertainment at French Quarter, but I may be wrong on that score

While Elliott Dyson no longer performs his jazz at FQ, there was another entertainer in the bar at the beginning of this month. We did not catch his performance though.

And FYI, there were plenty of kids at FQ during out stay.
We were there a few weeks (OK, more like a month now :() ago at POR, but we always love POFQ. We usually stop for late night ice cream for the kids, and beignets for DH and I. Beignets are on the do not miss list! Also, at the food court, they have this burger with a shrimp on top and remoulade...Give that a try, too! The walk along the Sassagoula is, as others have said, about 10 min, and just lovely. Also, a DO NOT MISS! As a side note, you can also take a carriage ride along this path. Rides originate at POR. While you are there, check out YeeHaw Bob. He isn't everyone's cup of tea, but he is fun to listen to. And the food court has some different offerings. The make your own pasta comes to mind, and a magic cookie bar is worth a try.

Unlike the new guy at POFQ, who is definitely a pass! It's just him and an electric keyboard, and I don't think he even enjoys his "entertainment". Both nights we happened to stop by, he was packing up early. Management has found a real winner, there. No problem with non paying customers taking up seats. Problem was, there weren't even paying customers there.

Back to the positives--Only resort with 2 feature pools. If they are too noisy, try the quiet pool at POR, between Parterre Place and Oak Manor. Love that! Love the boat to DTD. Love just listening to the music around the resort areas. Sitting by the pool (when one of those infernal pool parties aren't going on) is great.
The Port Orleans resorts are my families favorite place in the world, and really, POR and POFQ, you can't go wrong.
