POR with 5 vs. POP (2 rooms)

We are going on a trip in April. I have been back and forth between the pros/cons of both scenarios and I am left with size vs. resport accomondations.

We have 5 people going - 2 adults, 17, 15 and 14 y/o. We currently have reservations at POR for 5 (so 2 queens and a trundle or murphy bed) but I am starting to second guess the size (as well as travel time to WWOS as we are going there to watch my other son play baseball several times). Therefore, I am considering a switch to POP and getting 2 rooms. The issue - will we like POP if we are POR "regulars," what are the "Crowds" like at POP (we are going in the high season)?, if we just taxi to WWOS does the distance issue go away?, we are not guaranteed adjoinging rooms at POP so we could be spread out over the resort. (then again we could get together but Dis won't guaranty that).

Thoughts?

If you are a POR regular DO NOT go to POP. POR is our favorite place. This year we stayed there, transferred to POLY (husband's bucket list), then got snowed in an extra day. POLY was booked so we went to POP. It may sound ridiculous but I was in tears. POR is our home away from home and POP was anything but. We weren't there 5 minutes before I went to check in and they called over to POR and got us in. It was a breath of fresh air when we pulled back in. I like it better then POLY.

How about AOA? It's right around the corner from WWOS, you can get 1 suite for everyone...I'm just not sure about the bus service. I don't know if there is direct bus service from the resort....you can call and ask (or if anybody else knows...) If not, the 2 options would be a very short taxi ride or a bus ride to the TTC and then to WWOS...I'd look into it...the 2 complexes are about a mile apart.

Our home resort also is POR. POP will give you more room, two bathrooms, and a new experience. The theme is different of course.
I especially enjoyed the background music of the resort, pop songs of the different era's. The food court is almost if not as good as POR, just
different. Transportation for us to the parks and Disney Springs is fine. Don't know about WWOS. You will have a great time at POP.

If you are a regular at POR, you probably already know this, but the trundle beds are not full size, so are your kids small enough to fit comfortably there?
While adjoining rooms are not guaranteed, we've never had a problem getting them. That may be affected by how crowded the resort is, of course.
I think the other issue is where you plan to spend your time. Is it in the room, at the resort, or at WWOS or the parks? Number of bathrooms can be an issue too.

We love POP. We have been there at busy times and can always get adjoining rooms. Ask for a room near the Computer Pool, Building 7, 8 or 9. It is a little more of a walk to things but is less crowded in the back of the resort. We always ask for rooms back in this section. Also there are buses for WWOS at POP, I believe they usually are direct.

For me, if cost for either is a go, then I consider sleeping and showering. Pop has double beds but you'd have a total of 4 and two full bathrooms between the 2 rooms. Pop is undergoing some renovations right now but POR is slated for at least some pool refurbs but don't know exactly when. I super love POR but it sounds like your kids are getting to be semi adult sized. The beds are queens and the trundle bed will probably fit your shortest child. I'm 5 ft 8 1/2 in tall and managed to sleep on one there for a single night (long story lol) but with the addition of my pillow it made it a bit tight plus you only then have one bathroom/shower which could take a while to get ready if everyone is say a morning shower person. Just something to think about.

Why the Pop hate? Pop is fun. It's not supposed to be a mod. ;) 2 rooms, everyone gets a bed, 2 bathrooms...everyone's happy vs. 1 bathroom, taking turns for everything, cramped sleeping possibly affecting a sports competition for the athlete in your family, closer to the venue.....seems like an easy choice. :D
