POR-best room

Hi- I would like some suggestions for our stay at POR. We are taking my 70 year old FIL and our 1 year old son. I need somewhere quiet but still close to the main house and bus stops. The main pool doesn't have much attraction for us. I love any help. We will be arriving late Oct. Thanks in advance for any help.

Well if you stay in French Quarter, you'd be close to the main building and bus stop for sure because everything is pretty close, however Riverside is quieter overall and more picturesque. If you can reserve a specific room in riverside, like in alligator bayou but close to the lobby that may be your best bet. Hope this is helpful, good luck!

Yes, we're staying at the riverside. I want to stay at all the resorts, so when I was booking riverside was the only mod available.

Ok great, I'm sure you'll have a great time, another thing is if for some reason you get a room way in the back forty, the sidewalks are made to look like everythings farther away and bigger than it really is so even the farthest away things arent a terrible walk, and there are like 4 bus stops i believe.

We stayed at POR this past may with my MIL (60ish) and her mother (84). We requested a room in the Magnolia Bend area that was close to bus stops and the main building and on the first floor - through a fax to the resort. We ended up in the Parterre Place building in a corner room, which is great because it has 2 windows! We loved the queit pools in this area and the gardens/fountains are beautiful - lots of great photo ops! And the magnolia trees were in full bloom and smelled wonderful.

We have stayed in Alligator Bayou before also and it is nice also, but I think it was a little noisier. Either way you can't go wrong. I would just send a fax to the resort (found it at allears.net) asking for the things you are looking for and why.

When I stayed at POR, I stayed in Alligator Bayou in building 14. It was extremely close to the main building and to the main bus stop, however we found it quite quiet as well and we were right around the corner from a quiet pool and laundry.

At POR, we prefer the Aligator Bayou section.
