I haven't been during Pop Warner (yet - I'll be there this December! :xmas:) but I'll give you the answers that appear here the most often.

Pop Warner kids stay mostly at the All Star Resorts (Music, Sports, Movies) - which makes sense because the All Stars are closest to Disney's Wide World of Sports where these kids will be competing every day.

They also say that Pop Warner overflow/ those wishing to stay in a bigger room end up at one of the Port Orleans resorts - I can't remember if it is French Quarter or Riverside, sorry!

Sounds like you should be fine at Old Key West. And if your inlaws choose a Value, Pop Century should be their best bet, as the Pop Warner crowds really haven't shown up there yet.

As for their behavior, the reports range from "they are horrible, terrible, awful" to "I hardly even noticed they were there." Me? I'm hoping they will be as well behaved as the cheerleaders who were there when we were at All Star Music in March. Except for the 100's of girls filling up the pool, we never even noticed they were there! Very well behaved and even pleasant to be around.

Have a great trip! And maybe I'll see you there? :xmas:

They generally stay at the All Stars. Our experience with being at the parks during pop Warner is that they are better behaved than the Brazilian tour groups in the parks. Have not been at the all stars while they are there. Our issues with them were generally while waiting for buses and then while on the bus.

Rude, no manners, loud, disrespectful and foul mouthed. This was the Pop Warner we encountered last year, and this was just at the parks. We didn't stay at a resort where they were staying. Other than that, we hardly even knew they were there.

Pop Warner stays at the All Stars and at Port Orleans Riverside with the the overflow resort being Port Orleans French Quarter.

If you want to know about their behaviour, it can be anything from, you never knowing they're there to out right rude and obnoxious. We made the mistake of having dinner at Raglan Road on the Friday they all arrived last year and it was a nightmare. The parents were all getting drunk at the bar while waiting for their tables and the kids were running back and forth through the restaurant. The parents were all completely drunk by the time their seating time arrived. Even though we've travelled during Pop Warner a number of times, we've never stayed at a Pop Warner resort and never really had much of an issue in the parks but then if we see a team in the parks we tend to go in the opposite direction.

If your in-laws want to stay Value, then tell them to stay at the Pop Century Resort to avoid Pop Warner.

We have gone twice during Pop Warner Week. The first time we made the mistake of staying at Port Orleans Riverside. They loudly did their cheers everywhere they went, which was not fun outside our room at midnite :zipit:. We never really saw many of the boys, it was all girls. I agree that you can just go the other direction when they are in the parks. Just don't stay at the same resort and whatever you do, DO NOT get caught in the Stitch ride with them (you think you've heard screaming?). On second thought, don't get caught in that ride even without them (it was our first and last time). Other than that they were okay, no bad language and not any worse or better than just the average middle-schooler. Have a fun trip!

I had the misfortune of encountering a Pop Warner week once a few years ago. I wasn't at their hotel, but got surrounded by them several times in Magic Kingdom. The Pop Warner kids were some of most foul-mouthed, disrespectful and horrible children I've ever seen. What was worse was that their parents and chaperones, who appeared to be thugs and ex-cons themselves, did nothing to prevent this behavior.

Pop Warner child participants are apparently being raised by convicted felons to become... wait for it.... future convicted felons. Steer clear of them however you can, even if that means cancelling a WDW vacation if you are booked into their same hotel.

OKW should be fine. I'd switch the inlaws to a mod to be safe because if there are any overflows Pop would be next.

I was there one summer when there were tons of baseball teams from other countries playing. We had the misfortune of staying at an All Star with them. It was horrible. Well, I should say they were horribly, ill mannered kids. The chaperones seemed no different, either.

We've overlapped with them not stayed at resorts. Though have a friend who went with her daughter as they competed and she said never again. (This is from a resort stand point). Most of the chaperons ignore what the kids are doing as they are having a good time and they are up all kind of hours.

From a park standpoint other than having a few groups who were loud and doing their cheers while standing in line it's not that bad. We'll see as we will be there the week of Dec 3rd thru the 12th and I think that is the week they are there this year so will be a real test.

That's the time frame we went last year. Brazilians, Pop Warner and Cheer, oh my! Seriously, those three groups made us vow to never come back in December.

Never, ever, stay at the same resort as them ( the one's previously mentioned). Second if you see them in the park that your at, head the opposite way. This past December we ran into groups of them unsupervised and unruly, running around cursing, and throwing things. It was not fun being around them, they have no manners, either do the chaperrons. Good luck to you if you are there with them, I hope you have a better experience than we did with them.

We encountered them at AS Sports. The behavior left much to be desired. They ran around the lobby, food court and would run right into you. They were loud and not well behaved. We did not encounter them much in the parks. The cheer groups were terrible on the buses. They chant their cheers during the entire ride to and from the hotel. It was not peaceful!

My understanding is they stay at the values, primarily the AS's. You'll notice them at the hotel, but not in the parks.

Side note: The tour groups are something!! We encountered a lot from Puerto Rico. If we saw a flag and a large group, we went the opposite direction! Pop Warner is better behaved than the tour groups.
