Pop Question

My gf and I are about to book our triumphant return to Disney having not gone this year (unless you count being there New Year's day and the two following, counts for me) and our settled on our dates and resort but have one question we hope you guys could help us with.

When her and I went back in October 2010 we stayed over at AS Movies, we did the fridge rental (which was the biggest waste of money for a six night stay). This next trip we're taking we're going to stay at Pop - do the value resorts have the mini-fridge standard in their rooms now or no? I tried looking up the answer, the resort page on this site said available upon request as did WDW's site, no mention of the extra cost though. A third site, more of a forum, had people saying they come standard in Pop and Sports (so I'd imagine all the values but I didn't read past those two answers).

I trust you guys on here more than other forums, so thanks for any help!

This is quite correct. One of these days I need to stick a thermometer in one to see where they are actually at. I have a feeling that they are hovering at about 40-45 degrees at best. If that is the case I'll start looking for a thermostat to tweak.

We picked up a tip on this site a few years ago, where the poster complained about how hot her fridge was but then she found a simple solution (if you don't have very young children running around). Since the fridge is concealed in the dresser, the fan in the back of the fridge has no room. Because of this the air doesn't really flow properly and the fridge and dresser gets really hot. If you leave the door on the dresser OPEN it makes such a difference in the temperature of the fridge. Give it a try next time. Obviously the better solution would be for Disney to move the fridges to somewhere like under the sink, but like I just told the bf that design wouldn't fit with Disney, having something just out in the open like that.

They could also remove the back of the dresser where the fridge goes. Wouldn't take much and since it's against a wall, even if it's crudely cut it wouldn't matter.

That makes a lot of sense. I have a feeling that I am going to be yanking the whole thing out of the cabinet and seeing what I can do to make the thing work correctly. Given you suggestion of leaving the door open, I might just see how easy it is to simply remove the door and shove it in the closet or under the bed.

I think it's two simple hinges that are on there with four phillips head screws each.

That is what I thought. I'll toss my cordless screwdriver in my bag on the next trip and I typically have a socket set in my van. I wonder if I should bring the sawzall?:D

The one in my 50s Pop room was not enclosed in the front of it. Just get a ground floor room and wheel in a full sized fridge!
