I will be staying at the Pop Century in a few weeks for the first time and was wondering there any anything special I should do or see while staying there or if there are any "hidden treasures".

Take a stroll around Hourglass Lake. It will give you an up-close look at Art of Animation resort and nice view of Pop from a distance. Hang out on the bridge and watch the turtles below. Take in an evening movie by the main pool. I enjoyed the cheesecake, but my wife didn't. And please know it is mandatory to have at least one Mickey Premium ice cream bar daily.

Thanks guy, I will have to try the cheesecake and let you know what I think. I will definitely take a stroll around the lake. I will do my best with the ice cream :)

I know it's not really *at* Pop, but we really enjoyed walking over the bridge to Art of Animation to take pictures and eat in the food court. The build your own pasta bar is great!

It's also fun to look through the shadowboxes in Pop's lobby.

The tie-died cheesecake is alright, but it comes in a cup now instead of a slice, at least as of last September. The old slices were better.

There are cute findings all over the place. We found a large Twister game and lots of Photo ops. This was a girls spring break back in college in 2008. The resort is really sensory overload and we loved it. We also found that the food court was pretty good with options for everyone.

Great thread.... This will be very informative for me too, as I'll be going to POP for the first time in March. Keep the comments coming :)

I'm a big fan of the chocolate cake they sell there...I got my mother hooked on it last month on our vacation as well. Should have just frozen some and shipped it back with us...*sigh* :)

The cast members dance periodically during the day...they did a conga line through the cafeteria area during breakfast one morning while we were there.

Great opportunities for photo-ops as @HollyAD said, especially oversize characters like Lady & the Tramp, or the giant jukebox in the 50s section.

Personally for me the biggest "hidden treasure" is the unshared bus line to the parks. That's what makes POP worth it every time for me.

Great thread, I will be staying there next January. Anyone have any good room location recommendations?

This December we stayed in the 50s section, third floor behind the jukebox - it was really quiet and very pleasant. I've stayed in the 60s and 70s sections as well and enjoyed them.

Thank you! My girlfriend wants to stay in the 50's area goo to know it was quiet. Me personally I'd like to stay in either the 60s or 70s (heard you can view illuminations from the back top floors from here)

We stayed back there too, in September! It was really quiet, even on the first floor where we were, and super close to a parking lot if you have a car. It was quite a hike to the food court though, keep that in mind if you need morning coffee.
The 70s are my favorite section so far. No pool so it's quiet, and it's close to the food court & bus stops.

I've been staying at Pop since 2010, and I love it, everyone else has said just about everything you need to know.I don't want to feel like a copier saying what someone else has already said.

The cheesecake is my favorite, along with the fresh cookies!

Can't wait to try this cheesecake I better not be disappointed, lol. Glad many people like it we've stayed at AllStar Sports 2 years in a row and are kind of skeptical about trying somewhere new but we figured we will give POP a chance and see how it goes.
