On my last day of my trip, we are going to spend the day at the Wilderness Lodge. What is the quickest way to get there from pop century? Go to the MK and take the boat. :)

Sometimes the Wilderness Lodge boat is too slow!! But if you are going in the morning there should be no wait. I would take the bus, I heard that Wilderness Lodge now has a bus to MK. I am not positive that it has a bus now, but that is what someone told me. So I would take the bus, or drive there yourself.

You could take a bus to any park near the PC.....Blizzard Beach for example, then switch buses. I've never had a problem with the boats being any slower than the buses. I've had to wait 45 minutes for a bus and only 30 for a boat (time between departure and next arrival), so it's your call. If you want the free scenery.....definitely bus to MK then boat. It gives you a better opportunity to get into the magic of it when arriving slowly by boat.

Take this with a grain of salt, but if you have little kids, I'd suggest taking a bus to another theme or water park and then bus over to Wilderness Lodge. I know that if I were a child, and we got right to the front gate of the Magic Kingdom, and then took the ferry AWAY from the Magic Kingdom, I wouldn't be able to help myself. I'd beg my parents to go to the Magic Kingdom and despite my best efforts, I wouldn't be able to stop. It wouldn't matter how mant times we went over the course of the vacation, being that clkose would only make me want to go in again, and nothing else would suffice. Taking an alternate route might save you some grief later on. IF you're traveling with little ones. Come to think of it, it might save you grief even if you're traveling with big ones. :D

We stayed at the WL last fall (no one at the park at all) and still found all of the boats to be a bit inconvenient. Maybe at a more peak time of year there will be more boats from the MK straight to WL (the other boats go clockwise and counter-clockwise between WL, the Contempo and Fort Wilderness)....

We found that taking the bus from the Transportation and Ticket Center to be the fastest way to and from the WL when going to other hotels.....so, I'd take the Pop bus to the MK, take the Monorail to the TTC and take the bus to the WL......

As a side note, the WL is great, but, if you're drinking age and don't mind partaking, I'd recommend you head to the GF at night (after 5pm) and take a sit and listen at Mizner's Lounge on the 3rd floor.....it's a cozy place with a decent wine list and a nice atmosphere.....last time we went, there was a swing band playing outside of the bar.....the musicians faced the inside of the hotel so the music wasn't too loud, but it was REALLY nice....

my 2 cents...

The fastest way is a bus to MK, and then a bus to Wilderness Lodge. I think it's bus stop #5. Anyway it's the first one on the left approaching the bus stops after exiting from MK. The boat can take a while, but is relaxing. You can jump the Monorail or walk to the Contemporary, and take the boat directly to WL from there, but the bus from MK is the fastest. You no longer need to catch the bus at TTC.

You could also to to DTD and take the WL bus from there. My suggestion is to go to the POP bus stop and simply get on which ever bus comes first. They'll only be going to parks or DTD and you can connect to WL bus from them. I also agree that the bus from MK is much quicker than the boat. It seemed like no matter which way we were going the boat ALWAYS went to FW first.

During our trip last year, we decided to stay one more day after 9 days at POP, but there were no rooms there for the 10th day. We were able to get a room at WL. To get there, we checked out of POP early and went to MGM for a couple hours to play. Since we arrived early, we got to do quite a bit in 2 hours and grabbed a bus to WL. We arrived at WL at about noon, and had lunch at The Whispering Canyon.
