We are staying at POP in Sept.
I have heard many good things, but I also heard that housekeeping will not bring additional towels or other ammenities & that the staff is unfriendly?

imho nothing could be further from the thruth. We stayed there last May and will be staying there in Sept. The staff was very friendly. they put the wash cloth characters in the windows of some rooms. Always had fresh towels when we left the dirty ones on the floor. I think they don't give new towels everyday if you don't leave the dirty ones on the floor. You should love the hotel.

Where did you hear this? We have stayed at the Pop before and had no problems.
I was just reading some on-line quotes from people who had stayed there.
Believe me, I have read more good reviews than bad ones.
It just worried me about asking for more towels, etc., because we always need more towels, washcloths, etc. every time we stay somewhere.

I dont think you will have a problem. If you ask for them, and they are slow delivering, you could allways go down to the front desk and ask for them and ask why its taking so long. I believe you will enjoy your stay.

Well, that makes sense about the towels.
Don't you love the way they do the character set ups?
We stayed at POR last summer & housekeeping did a different set up almost every day.
I have heard more good things than bad about the staff at POP.
I am glad to hear more good things!
Thank you for your info.!

I have heard too many good things about POP to believe otherwise!
Thanks so much!

when i stayed at POP in july, they didnt give you new towels if you hung them back up. Not bad service, it was actually part of an environmentality push. I liked the idea. No need to waste water cleaning a towel that I only used once. Then again, Im one of those people, the kind that always composts and will keep holding an extra bottle untill i find a recycling bin, so i really liked the idea, but I can see some people not understanding and getting frustrated. But if you dont hang it back up, it gets replaced with a new one. We also had a major spill and called for extra towels, and they brought them to us, no problem.

Glad to hear that!
We always pile our towels on the floor in the b'room when we are done using them.
I was just worried that they wouldn't send us additional ones if we needed them.
I read a quote from someone who stayed there & they said that they had a problem w/ that.
Thanks!

Remember that people are far more willing to complain then compliment. For every complaint you read, there are dozens if not hundreds if not thousands of people who had a great stay with no problems.

You can always ask for towels, and you'll get them.
(Tip to handle that: Leave a note on the table or sink or on the dirty towels for mousekeeping to please leave you a few extras.)
Also, if you only need the bigger towels, you can get them at the pools when you go down there.

You'll always hear about people having bad staff experiences in every company. It just happens. 99%+ of Disney employees do their jobs well, even if they arent happy with certain things. Nothing to worry about.

You are right...it seems like people always tend to remember the bad things.
I am looking forward to my POP visit!
Thanks!

We stayed there about 3 years ago. It was one of our best vacations ever! The place was wonderful. If we didnt become DVC members thats probably where we would be everytime. I highly recommend it.:king:

We've stayed several times and have had no problem. Last trip we had several towel animals throughout the week and lots of creative displays in the window. One night we came back and Mousekeeping had forgotten to leave a new bar of facial soap. I called and asked (because we - like everyone else - saves the soap to bring home) - they sent someone immediately with three of each - shampoo, body soap and face soap! We were thrilled! And the young man that brought them apologized profusely - I assured him - no problem - just wanted our souvenirs!:ROFLOL:

Everyone was very friendly and helpful - you'll love it. The only negative thing I can say is that sometimes the line to check in or talk to someone at guest services is REALLLLLLLLY long.
