I don't know if this has already been reported. My apologies if it has.

There is still no opening date for this resort, but I did find out some interesting info on the resort itself. It will be located near the All Star Resorts with the first phase of the buildings called "Classic". All of the buildings will feature a larger than life Time Capsule with items from each time frame.

The second phase will be called "Legendary"
This will feature the years 1900-1940 so far.

There will be 1 building for the 1900's
2 buildings for 1910's,1920's and 1930's combined.
3 buildings for the 1940's.
Nothing has been released on the 1950's and so on.

I hope this helps you with a Pop Century fix. I questioned Disney on when this Resort will open since the crowds have come back.

Cool...thanks Pam......:)

Pam and or Steve....question....for anyone actually.... will the rooms be themed for each era as well?...
The 1940's sounds interesting...so do the 20's and 30's... well, to me at least ;)

Pop Century Themes

Phase One (which is now built):

Buildings ("Classic Years")

1950's - Lady and the Tramp and Giant Jukeboxes.
1960's - Jungle Book characters Mowgli and Baloo, and Skateboards.
1970's - Mickey Mouse phone and Big Wheel
1980's - Roger Rabbit.
1990's - Computers and Cell Phones

Phase Two will be the "Legendary Years" and cover the period from 1900 through the 1940's. As you can see, all the buildings have a direct sales link to Disney products or sponsors.

The latest I have heard from Disney Transport is that the resort is slated to partially open in the Spring of 2003. The reason why it won't open any earlier is kinda simple. When you think about it, if you're going to open a resort of this size, you want it to open during the busy times... not the slow season that we are currently in. Another reason is actually transportation. We're getting the last 24 Nova busses in Dec/Jan. This will bring our fleet up to 265 guest busses, which should be able to handle Pop Century. Disney hasn't (and probably won't) release a set date for opening just for that "just in case" factor.

It is right next door to CBR, yes. However... it is still technically just down the street from the All-Stars... not even 5 minutes away.
