Pop Century question..

We changed our reservations from POR to Pop to save a little money..Now I am second guessing my decision! We will be there 4/26-5/6. I called last night to try & tack on another night (4/25) but was told the resort was completely sold out:(. Now I remember that 4/25 is a grad night and I am worried that the resort is going to be full of unruly teens (yes, I know I sound like an old fart but we have been at the parks during grad nights and it has not been pleasant:fork:)..Does anyone have any experience with this? Is this a big resort for the grads to stay at?? Also, on a completely different subject, do you get the little bottles of shampoo at Pop? My kids love to collect these:D

Thanks!

Did it two years ago and last year during Grad Weekend. It wasn't bad at all. My DD is going on 3, so she was just under 1 and just under 2. We had no issues with her being woken up by the noise - and she is a light sleeper - so it wasn't bad. There were a few unruly kids here and there, but I was just there in November - and saw the same type of behaivor when the teens are with their family. So it's going to happen in any family resort, at any time. This year, I am not arriving until they are all gone on Monday! We have prior commitments on Sunday, so we decided to fly out on Monday morning instead.

Don't worry about it! Just enjoy the vacation!

I am not 100% sure, I am guessing that there could be a decent amount of grads will be staying at the value resorts but I am not too sure specifically about Pop Century. The reason why I think so is because they will be out in the parks most of the time and not in the room very much, so it would make sense to stay in the least expensive hotel. I wouldn't worry though, I think one of the posters mentioned that they will mostly be out at night and coming home in the early morning hours. If noise is a concern, I would try to request a room farthest away from the pool or more common areas so hopefully it will be a little more quiet (although if you have children with you, that might not be the most optimal solution as you would be farther away from the busses and food court). Just a suggestion in case you there are no other solutions.

To answer your second question, yes they do have the shampoo bottles (and soaps too!) :)

And third, you will love Pop Century! It's a lot of fun!!

Keep on calling. Maybe another night will free up. Call every few hours and I am sure a cancellation will happen. Pop was a good resort. My son loved the larger than life icons. Very kid friendly. Yeah, you can get cute bottles from any resort and can have EMH from any resort.

Personally, we have never stayed during grad night but it can't be any worse than going in the summer and even then isn't so bad.:)

Oh..i never went during grad nights.. but I was just at the Pop Century for the past 2 weeks and loved it. We had our parents come down there a few nights also and they liked it. I'm a huge fan of the Pop Century resort.. and yeah you get the little bottles of shampoo and mickey soaps etc. The Pop Century also has the best arcade that I seen so far.. my wife spent a lot of time winning tickets to collect a cute collection of stuffed mickey and friends. The pools are nice too.. the 50s pool is almost always dead when we go and you can have it all to yourself most times. The foodcourt is huge and the entire place is just bursting with disney magic. Im not a big fan of the moderate resorts at all.. the Pop Century bus system to me is far superior.. so its either Pop Century or deluxe for us. Im hoping for the Poly next time.. since I spend a lot of mid days there relaxing on the hammocks.

we stayed at the pop last week and our room was on the bottom floor. big mistake. all the kids, people, and maids running by. it was so loud. we changed to a third floor room and it was much better. oh, and the soap is not the spa or aquatics. it's the cheap stuff at the value resorts.
