Poor show at Epcot 1/28/18

Just like some people on the Harley's davison forums might obsess about the shade of color chosen, I obsess about if all the jets at JII are working. And I enjoy sharing that with everybody and hope someone at Disney might see this and take not. Don't judge me for looking for these things. At first when I joined these forums I didn't care as much but now I look at every little detail. It's what fans do
Well I went to school with the guys brother who is contracted to do the plumbing there. Do you want me to give him a call and get the jets fixed?

Hello! I have some pictures of some things that need to be fixed at Epcot from yesterday 1/28/18. They're all small things but I take enjoyment looking for things that need to be fixed. So here goes. Also I got some construction wall photos and by the new station there is a tall black bar that I couldn't get a good picture of.
Thank you for keeping the pressure on. (Speaking of, nobody in EPCOT has a pressure hose to clean some areas?)

The walls are not an issue, as you state in plain English. But the Imagination crystals, fountains and WoM cladding are. Here is what Imagination should look like:

Nearly all of its fountains need some help too. Although the real drama of this pavilion is the replaced ride, the closed off upstairs, the lack of coherence from the three attractions to colour scheme to music, the removal of all works of creative art such as the sculptures inside and out and murals (how's that for an Imagination pavilion of the world's largest creative company). My hobby is looking for things that needn't be fixed, and I actually come home with less pictures of Imagination than you.

I guess the op was just trying to say would Walt have accepted any imperfections in his beloved park? It's the small things that make a big difference and set you apart from the rest. Think about it Disney was made famous and loved by guest because they made perfection their goal. I guess our expectation nowadays are just lower for all things.

Well if these issues are in need of repair I say apply for a job and get to fixing them.
This is not the right mentality either. You're paying premium prices for a premium theme park experience and the company should hold up their end of that bargain, as well as meeting the bar that they themselves raised in the past.

But, construction walls and a paint job in progress are not issues.

I agree with you however comma know there is nitpicking and then there is actual issues needing attention.

I can appreciate OP noticing 'poor show' around Epcot. I notice all those details too, not just at Disney but everywhere. Which is not to say that I run around Future World or Frontierland like Kojak looking for messed up stuff, just that I notice if I see it. If I see stuff like fountains not working or tiles missing etc. at a Six Flags park, it just registers in my mind as, 'normal/expected'. The Six Flags bar just isn't set that high. Disney is different, the bar is set MUCH higher, the quality of the show is higher. A few things that are 'poor show' can really stand out because overall all the parks are such GOOD show.

the fact initial reaction here was a collective wha? goes towards explaining why some things go as long as they do without being addressed.

going out of your way to search for the smallest things is slightly suspect, but the fact that are things in epcot that looked like they haven't been touched in years or are in a state of disrepair should not be acceptable and are certainly instances of poor show, no doubt.

epcot in pristine shape, as another example of almost neurotic attention to detail, used to be a matter of pride, the lessening of which was cause for action in yet another demonstration of the disney difference...
today, not nearly as much

but, if nobody notices or cares - is it even happening?

I spent 2 days in MK without noticing the hated ‘cabanas’. So it makes sense that I somehow fail to notice the flaws in your photos while visiting.

I was curious as I didn't even know what the mentioned cabanas were. So I did some quick research. OMG--am I missing something about these 'cabanas', or is this the most ridiculous idea ever? So you spend almost $700.00 for the luxury of hanging around in a tent, charging your phone and eating airline snacks? Even if I had money to throw around, I don't know why I would want to buy a ticket to MK and then want to spend any of the day chillin' in a tent with a mini bag of Fritos. (Maybe there's already a Cabana Thread in here somewhere...sorry for getting off track!)

If you want to see some bad show, at the front plaza of Epcot after you enter the park, that horizontal bar of fluorescent lights that goes across the whole length of the plaza, when I was last there two weeks ago, I saw many bulbs burnt out in the line, also in the areas by the restrooms on either side of SSE. Especially east side. I had worked at Epcot for quite a while, and I have never these lights get this bad.

Disney has always been good at cleaning small, but lax in cleaning large, the fact that the imagination glass building is dirty doesn't surprise me. The monorail tracks thru EPCOT always looked bad until they finally cleaned them.

The only thing on the list that looked really bad / inexcusable was the paint job by the fountain.. the others I just say eh..
