Hey All, I just purchased DVC so I have not been to stay at Kidani Village yet. Knowing that towels cost you money if you want them swapped out, or even get additional towels. Also, I know mousekeeping only comes every 4 days. How do you get pool towels? Do they have them at the pools? Or do we have to use the ones in our rooms? Thanks

I think they put extra towels in the room for the pool. But, that could vary per resort. We always take extra laundry detergent (new pods or equivalent-no mess) and dryer sheets. I actually gather up the towels and wash each morning-come back at lunch during mid-day break and throw in dryer. I know-horrible waste of water, but, I hate the feel of used towels. I recycle everything else-even pick up cans on the road-so one indulgence.

At AKLKV there are bins of towels that you walk up to and grab a towel with bins to return them too.

When I post a question on this site, I prefer people to respond who "know".
Giving incorrect information 8 minutes after an intial post because that's what you "think" is certainly not helpful.
Next time, wait awhile. If nobody's responded for a day or so, what you "think" may be helpful.

Nothing personal, it happens all over the internet.
People need to realize there's no award for being "1st to respond", and no penalty for not responding.

But this wasn't even your question....

Really? It wasn't about speed. And I did know they put extra towels in some and my response was really more about what we do for extra towels in case. But, I am not perfect like you obviously.

Maybe you should wait awhile before you start judging from your mighty alter!

What resorts do they put extra towels in the rooms for use @ the pools?

Holy crap fanatic, lighten up Francis. It is possible funfy thought his/ her statement to be true? Though wrong and ultimately corrected, there is no need to rip someone for trying to be helpful. It would not bother me that he was wrong answering any of my questions because I know it would be corrected by the many informative people on this site.

Old Key West, and Bay Lake. Also, Vero Beach, but, that is not actually relevant for WDW. Maybe not a policy, but, Vero actually has a little sign and the others were an extra stack on the tub. Could have just been a nice gesture from Mousekeeping.

OKW & BLT do not put towels in the rooms for the pool. They both have the pool towels located @ the pool. I cannot answer for Vero Beach, but being a DVC resort it should follow the same protocol.

Each Villa has towels which match the rooms capacity. So if the room has a capacity of 5 then you have 5 towels. In the larger 2 bedroom villas and grand villas they have more towels. This may be the reason you think they give you extra towels. I would advise people not to take the towels down to the pool in case one gets lost or left. DVC inventories rooms and the guest could (should) be charged if they are missing.

And SSR and OKW and BeachYacht requires a room key for a pool towel to be issued and admittance to the pool.

That is interesting. I have not seen anyone checking room keys for pool towels @ SSR or OKW yet. At Yacht & Beach it has been required to show your room card to get a towel and get a wristband to use the pool.

@ BLT you need your room key to open the gates to get access to the pool but I have never been checked after that. Towels are available in a window between the restrooms and poolbar.

@ AKL Kidani I have never been checked for ID and there is no gate blocking the pool off. Just grab your towels and find a spot to sit. Towels are available through a window near the bathrooms.

Daggumit! I meant to separate YC from the first two. Too many items getting ready for classes right now!

This:
Disney's Vero Beach Resort has upgraded its pool towels with larger, plusher versions stocked in Vacation Homes. Each Vacation Home is equipped with the appropriate number of pool towels based on that Vacation Home's occupancy. Pool towels will not be available at poolside or the beach, except on a one-for-one exchange basis. Members and Guests may also exchange used pool towels for clean replacements by contacting Housekeeping for delivery to their Vacation Home, or during regularly scheduled housekeeping services.

At the other facilities were extras also in the same location, so, excuse for making the mistake of thinking they had changed the policy at all.

The amount of people ready to pounce on people on this site and tell them how wrong they are is always so amazing to me.

Whoa, easy. I certainly did not pounce on anyone, I was just stating some information. I thought you had some new information that I did not know and was simply asking which resorts. I try to state only facts I know to help others and if I state an opinion I make it clear that is in fact an opinion. In the end I did not want the original thread poster to expect that there are towels in the room for the pool when in fact there was not.

If you take offense to that, then I am sorry.
