My husband and I were looking at new pictures of the Polynesian pool. We were also there last May and realized that the semi-new volcano at the pool really takes away from the beauty of the hotel, which is my very favorite!!! It seems to block views of parts of the hotel. Our question is, does anyone feel the same way, or does anyone acutally like volcano? Just curious! :shrug::shrug::shrug:

Polynesian pool volcano question

I like the volcano.
But you say "semi-new". When was the volcano pool built?
Our first stay at the Poly was in 2005, and it was there then.

The new volcano has been up since 2000. (It went up the same year as the infamous Wand so that should tell ya'll something.) I think too that the new volcano is just smack dab in the middle of what was once an open beautiful area that had a great view of the pier and surrounding buildings. The old slide used to be built into rock formations with waterfalls too, but it only blocked the way to Captain Cooks. I do like the new zero-entry pool, but that's about the only change I like.
