I need some help. We are going to DW for our honeymoon December 4th through December 12th. Which resort should we stay at WL or Poly? From reading on here, it looks like the Poly has better transportation but the WL has a great atmosphere. Does anybody else have more to add?

Thanks!

We married and honeymooned at WL, it was so romantic. It was all decorated for Christmas as well so that made it even better. You have the fireplace nooks you can sit in front of and have private moments just to 2 of you. Awesome view from the 4th floor balcony overlooking the lake and pools. If you get a woods view you may be fortunate enough to see fireworks as well (we were given 7th floor, conceirge with a perfect castle view) Make sure to get the bride and groom hats and/or pins, be ready to say thank you A LOT if you get them, but it's fun and has some perks. :)

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

You can't go wrong either way. However, as a long term resort hopper, I suggest you experience the best of both. Split the week, start at Poly and end at WL and double up on the great memories. Disney makes it very easy to switch and I'm sure you'll love it.

I would second that suggestion...
I've nevered stayed at WL but really enjoy the Poly. Enough so that last trip we split the trip over 3 resorts. CB, AKL and Poly... Our upcoming trip we are splitting it just between AKL and Poly. We like the Poly for it's location to the MK. It gives you just a bit more Disney feeling than a lot of the other resorts mostly because you can see the MK, you see the monorail all the time and it's one of the first WDW resorts. But the AKL experience for us was soooo cool that we have to enjoy it again...

Either way, both should be great. I proposed at the Poly looking over at the MK all lit up... :D So I do have partial feelings for the Poly...:sohappy:

I was just going to suggest the same thing!

I have stayed at both and they are beautiful in their own unique way. They will transfer your luggage between resorts for you so you don't even have to worry about that.

The Wilderness Lodge is gorgeous. I prefer the Polynesian though. I would still recommend the Poly over WL for no other reason...transportation. You get monorail access at the Poly....the WL you're stuck with boats and buses.

I haven't stayed at Poly, so I can't recommend it, but I just love the WL. Nothing beats the atmosphere and I don't find the transportation to be all that inconvenient. The boat rides are very relaxing (and romantic).

Especially at sunset.

One more thing. The Christmas decors should be up at WL during your trip. You have to see it, the lobby tree is beautiful.

WL is my personal favorite and we stay there at least a few nights every trip, but we love Poly as well. We have split trips in the past between these two resorts. Both have great restaraunts. Go for it.

Poly definetly!!! WL is my 2nd fav. resort but to me nothing beats the Poly. You feel like you are in paradise. And to stroll on the beach and look across the lake at the MK and the CR and GF...its beautiful. Plus it has 'Ohana:slurp:

a very important point that could sway your decision.... The Wilderness Lodge has an outstanding hot tub area.
I dont think the Poly has a hot tub =(
That said they are both my top favorites and it would be very hard for me to decide too =(
The poly has bigger rooms but is more expensive

I'm also planning to hop places for my Honeymoon although right now it's only 3 nights (we're hoping for an extension from his time off work) but anyway, we were thinking of doing Grand Floridian and the Dolphin, mostly because we didn't think those were ones we'd think would be fun for our daughter, but now I'm reading all about these activities that sound pretty fun for a little girl (age 4+ maybe) at the Grand Floridian.

Anyway, yay for park hopping!
