Polynesian Concierge

I just noticed that the concierge building for the Poly is scheduled for renovations through the summer. I am scheduled to stay there 2/5-2/9.

Has anyone stayed there recently? Is the rehab needed badly as in will I be disappointed with my room or anything else? I know I have asked and everyone says the Poly is great but I just hope the room will be okay.....Thanks

The rehab is mostly to redesign the lounge and redo the foundation of the older longhouses. The rooms just had a rehab (new paint and repairs) in the summer of 2001. We were there in July 2002 and the rooms looked fine to us.

Aloha

Thanks so much.....I feel so much better. I am excited to be staying on a hotel on the monorail. The only other hotel we have stayed in is AKL and it's way out.

You are so kind to respond so fast. Hope you have a great day.

Can I ask you one more question? Please?

How does the food served on concierge at the Poly compare to the AKL concierge food?

Is it true they will give you water bottles and soda if you ask? At the AKL unless you were very hungry you could easily make a meal off the hot food from 5 to 7.

The food at the Polynesian and the AKL concierge is both great. Both you could make a light meal out of all the stuff offered. I think some nights the Polynesian had better stuff and other nights the AKL had better stuff. At the Polynesian you can always get sodas, bottled water and juices in the lounge and it is out. At the AKL you can get juice but soda and water you have to ask for.

I don't know what to say....but THANK YOU. That is exactly what I needed to know. I don't know how to PS so that is why I am responding this way.

We are going on 2/5 and staying 4 nights. I am so excited because the Poly is one of those hotels people my age grew up dreaming they would ever get to stay in. The concierge level is worth the extra money in my opinion just for the light snacks, water, etc.

I can't think you enough for your help. You have answered my questions before and I appreciate it. Have a great day.
