We are planning to go back in 2018 and I was looking at the studio rooms at the Polynesian. My kids will be 10 and 13 when we go. Has anybody stayed in a studio with a family of four? Is there enough room or is it too cramped?

We just stayed there with a 9 and 15 year old. We felt we had enough room. The 9 year old slept in the pull down bed, the 15 in the pull out couch and us in the bed. The 2 bathrooms helped getting ready in the morning much easier. If you typically spend a lot of time in the room, I could see it getting crowded. But if you are in the parks a lot, then you would probably be fine.

PS - We loved the Poly! Enjoy your stay!

I have stayed in polynesian studios twice in the last two years with two different groups of four people, all 18+. I think the room is plenty big enough for 4 adults, so I think you will be fine with a 10 and 13 year old. The two showers are a nice added amenity for getting ready in the morning! The Poly is my favorite resort and I love the studios as they are still new and I love the theming in the rooms! The pullout bed from under the TV was big enough for my 23 year old brother, and the bed and couch pullout were also good size. I highly recommend!!!

Call me crazy, but I spent one night at a Poly studio last November with my younger sister. I took the sofa and gave her the bed, because she was my guest. Even though I loved the shower in the smaller bathroom, I really did not like the size of the living area.
Once I got all the pillows off the sofa, I had no room to move. I cannot imagine having 4 people in there, unless they are used to living in a teeny tiny space. One of the posters above said the pull down cot was large enough for an adult. I disagree. It's for a little kid, not for a teen or an adult.
But if you want the room, go ahead and try it.

Thanks for the information. We have stayed at the Poly before and loved every minute of it. We have wanted to go back but it has gotten a little out of our price range. We were looking into renting points as a way of bringing the cost down.

Poly is fantastic! We have stayed there a few times with 4 in our party and did not have an issue.

The living area is small with the couch pulled out, but during the day we put it away and it was fine.

The pull down bed is designed for kids with the quaint painted scene etc, but I will admit taking a 2-3 hour nap on it and @ 6ft and 250 I am not small - no issues but not my ideal place to sleep.

Love the two showers as well.

I believe in any studio room, once the sofa bed is pulled out, there's not a lot of room. Poly studios are the largest on property at 465 square feet. My only issue is the lack of dresser space....there is none. There are two large drawers under the bed and some in each bathroom vanity. The drawers under the bed can be inconvenient. But the bed has room underneath to stow a suitcase or two.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay. Each of your children will be able to have a bed to themselves.

In case you've not seen the floor plan, here it is:

Enjoy your trip!

When were you looking to rent points?

Let me be honest with you, and this is not to discourage your plans, but to inform you. You would be renting about smack dab in the middle of what DVC rental agencies consider "magic season" Mid June-Mid August. Which means it's more expensive. I just looked it up with what Disney directly is charging rack rate for a Deluxe Standard view Studio at the Poly it comes to $3,429.00 USD. Without taxes or paypal fees etc.. renting it through DVC (if you can get one for then and that long of a time period) the price would be about 3,184.00 USD.

Now, I am a HUGE DVC person/supporter and have even rented in the past, but I just wanted you to be aware of the above.

My family of five stayed in Polynesian Studio in December 2015. My wife and I were in the bed, my 6 year old and 9 year old were on the pull out sofa bed, and my 12 year old was on the pull down bed. The two showers are great. As a previous poster commented, there are no drawers, so it was tight with our open suit cases all over the room. However, we wake up and go to the parks, and then come home and go to bed, so we don't need a lot of time walking around the room. Also, if my kids complain, I remind them that we are at disney world, and they quickly shut up.

The convenience of POLY to the MK makes it worth the extra $, and being a little cramped.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa at Old Key West in December 2016. That room was huge! However, my family commented that it didn't feel like disney world, because we were so far from the magic Kingdom. It just felt like we were in a nice condo "offsite".
