Poly Room ?

Now that DH booked Poly for a quick December trip, I'm now on overdrive trying to get as much info about the resort as possible. I have read that not all rooms have balconies. Is this true? Every picture I have seen shows balconies so I'm confused. Do I need to request a balcony?

We stayed at the Poly twice, just got back from the second trip on 12/27. The newer buildings, Tokelau, Rapa Nui, and Tahiti have balconies for all rooms. Or patios if on 1st floor. All other buildings have "fake" balconies on the second floor. We've stayed in Tahiti both times, so we've always had a balcony. So the best way to avoid getting a room without a balcony is to request either Tokelau, Rapa Nui, or Tahiti, or if you really want another building, ask for a 1st or 3rd floor room. Also check out this website:

PM me if you have any other ?'s.

In September we stayed at poly in a garden view room on the 2nd floor and it had a faux balcony. It had the railing part but nothing to step out on. You can open the sliding glass but I wouldnt if u have small children as they could slip through the bars. The first floor had a little patio.

Thanks, we do have Garden View and small children. Maybe I'll make a request for 1st floor room next time I call. I just wanted a place to sit while the baby is napping.

I know Figi did not have balconies the one time we went. It had the sliding door but no where to go out to. Tokelau and Tahati had balconies, but TikiMan is the place to go for all your Poly info. He is great at keeping it all up to date. And yes, request a balcony. That is easier to accomidate than putting down 4-5 buildings. The small the request in details, the better on getting what you want.

Don't forget, you pay the same whether 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor. If you opt for the 1st or 3rd floor, you get the "outdoor room" to put wet ponchos, step outside for morning coffee etc. The one time we got stuck on the 2nd floor, it was with the kids, and I didn't think it would make a difference, but after the first night, we asked to be moved to 1st or 3rd floors, which they did...and with a free upgrade to the marina view!!

If you have small children I would request to stay on the first floor. We stayed in a room with a patio when my DD was 4. It was great to be able to open the door and have a place for her to run around.

Thats ur best bet. We stayed in the building to the right of the Volcano pool. Even though it was a garden view it was still cool to see the volcano in the morning and at sunset. It was actually a pretty good view. Also very close to the pool:D

Tokelau

We were at the Tokelau longhouse last week on the first floor. It was like a small patio. The second floor had balconies. I don't think we've used it once while we were there. I think I had opened the "patio" door at least twice just to get a 'feel" of the weather.
