Poly room recommendations please

hi
We are travelling to Disney world from the UK for our Honeymoon at the beginning of April, and are booked for 12 nights at the Poly. On previous visits to WDW we have stayed at Wilderness Lodge.
There will be myself, my (new) husband (!) and our 2 daughters (5&3). we have booked a standard garden view room.

Am looking for recommendations please of which building/room to request at the Poly. We definately want a balcony as we usually put the kids to bed and then have a drink & relax on the balcony once they're asleep, but ideally would like a quiet-ish room with a partial lake or beach view if this exists for a standard room?

Also, do you think I should definitely request a room or do you think that as its noted on the reservation that it's our honeymoon they might give us a good room
anyway?

any thoughts would be v helpful
thanks

Congrats on your upcoming marriage and Disneymoon!!

We have stayed at the Poly twice, both times in the Raratonga building. We absolutely loved it. It is right next to the Great Ceremonial House (right next to all the food, monorail, front desk, pool close by). Not a far walk to the TTC either. I cannot remember if those rooms have balconies or not, but we lived the room and the building location.

FYI in our experience, noting you're on your honeymoon doesn't equal being gifted a nice room, or a special anything. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for our Disneymoon and while we loved the room and the view which we paid for, it wasn't anything more special because of our celebration.

Enjoy!

thanks for all the advice! will look into the Raratonga building and will definitely request a room-I think that's the best for getting one we want.
thanks again
