Poly Question

Just booked a Standard View room for September, this is our first time staying here, usually stay at Beach Club. Looking for recommendations on which long house to request. Hoping to be close to pool and lobby. Also, do all rooms have balconies? Thanks in advance.

FWIW, on our one visit to the Poly we stayed in Moorea (a DVC-only building) -- which is one of the longhouses that is furthest from the pool and Grand Ceremonial House. Even though it looks far away on a map, the walk to the pool and/or GCH was no more than 5 or 6 minutes. The longhouses with standard and garden views are all much closer than that to the pool and GCH, so even if the Poly is not able to satisfy your particular longhouse request, you won't be too far away from the heart of the resort.

Rarotonga and Niue are the closest to the Great Ceremonial House (restaurants, lobby and monorail access) and the Oasis quiet pool. But none of the buildings are terribly far from anything.

Further to the info above, in the Polynesian Village Resort longhouses, which I presume you will be staying in, only rooms on floors 1 and 3 have terraces/balconies. Meaning any rooms on floor 2 have no outdoor space.

The DVC buildings (booked separately as Polynesian Villas) have terraces and balconies to all rooms.

We've stayed in one of the DVC buildings each trip - Pago Pago. Closest to the TTC to walk over and pick up the Epcot monorail. And maybe a 10 minute walk to the Ceremonial House. Had a standard view room, which meant parking lot. But we could check that the monorail was running before we left our room.

Just booked a Standard View room for September, this is our first time staying here, usually stay at Beach Club. Looking for recommendations on which long house to request. Hoping to be close to pool and lobby. Also, do all rooms have balconies? Thanks in advance.

Somoa would be the best location; but it highly requested. We requested this longhouse on our last trip in june; but were upgraded to Tokelau instead. At first i objected since this location is at the edge of the resort ; but their only alternative was a room overlooking the parking lot. Weather lady is correct in that the walk from longhouse to swimming or dining is quite short. We were on the third floor (no balcony), but the view of lagoon and top of castle were well worth it. If i ever went back to the poly again ; i would really try to get the Somoa; though

Perhaps you meant Tuvalu? That longhouse is not DVC and is at the west end of the resort. However, 3rd Floor rooms in all the longhouses have a balcony so I am curious as how yours did not?
