Here is a picture from the ferry taken last week. They seem to be very close.

I completely understand how alot of members feel about the Poly's reburb. Yes, her slip is showing, but to alot (me included) we are there thru thick and thin :) No. the waterfall won't be in the lobby and the volcano pool is being refurbed, the path to TTC is altered. But. when you are in your room, (depending what longhouse you request) it shouldn't matter. There are MANY of us who are upset about refurbs, but believe, her facelift will restore her to her once glorious state. (OK that sounded weird LOL) Simple solution to vacationers, there are many other wonderful alternative resorts to stay at during the Poly refurb. If you are a Poly fan, your next visit will be fantastic!!! Just keep an open mind

Not what I was expecting at all. I assumed these would extend out perpendicular from the shore. From these picture it looks like a bunch of suburban tract homes. I really hope they are not finished with the external theming.

I would love to stay in one. If the noise is too bad from the ferry, well I can sleep thru it I bet. If not I will just drink more at dinner. It's on the list to stay at but I would imagine we are looking at Treehouse Villa at SSR type points, even more I would guess.

This is comical, those buildings are nothing like the ones in the South Pacific. Water is muddy and dark. I would bet they didn't do much sound proofing so yes you will be hearing a bunch of boat noises.
Don't know if comical is the right word but ugly they are. I'm sitting watching the work being done from the Hawaii building as I write this. As new features get added (railings etc) they just get uglier. And the bungalow sides are flat walls. Nothing like French Pikynesia.

Not the ones near the TTC. The ferries are very loud and they are bathed in light from the TTC, extremelY bright. On the other side, west side, the resort launches go by every 10 minutes horns signalling. In fact all traffic except the ferries go by them constantly and only a few feet away.

Have you watched the Electrical Water Pageant or Wishes from Hawaii? Was wondering if the bungalows block the view (esp. the EWP) or distract during Wishes?

Yep and they do block a bit as they drove ft east. The worst part is that they only show half of the Pageant at a time. Because the bungalows are so far out into the water the first group of barges half to turn much sooner and sharper to the north so once their characters are over the lights go out and they turn North. Then the second set of barges take over and do their characters and a half length America tribute.

There is no blockage of fireworks and both 2nd and 3rd floors have legitimate theme park views. First floor can see all fireworks but miss a bit of the launch portion of the lower fireworks. East side of main beach will have little view. The extreme east side 1st floor rooms are likely losing the view because thy are almost finished putting sunset point back to its old height and configuration.
