Poly - Is theme park view worth the extra $$$

Which is Better at Poly? Pago Pago or Samoa ???? Just planning strategy for each day to get around???? :)
Pago Pago is part of DVC and has studio villas; Samoa is a non-DVC longhouse with rooms that have 2 queens or 1 King and a daybed. Therefore it is not an apples-to-apples comparison.

If your concern is central location, Samoa is a good choice in the regular room category. For DVC, it would be Tokelau.

Now that the poly has undergone the DVC "manipulation", it's a tough call on what else you want in the view and location now. It depends on what you like. As long as I'm not looking at the parking lot or the pool I'm happy! I usually prefer the ambient sounds more than the view of the castle. Worse case if you don't get that view, then you can always grab a bottle and find a spot along the beach(even those seem to be limited, but could be worthy of an adventure).

As it turns out my daughter and son in law were beyond thrilled with the theme park view. We were on the 3rd floor in Tuvalo. Corner room closest to the marina. It was a gorgeous view!!!

Oddly enough, you can still get a "theme park view" without paying for a "theme park view" room. From the Poly, all you can really see of MK are the spires of Cinderella Castle. My wife and I tend to stay in the Aotearoa longhouse on the 3rd floor in what is actually considered a "standard view" room, and it actually provides a great view of the castle from the balcony. I think it escapes the "theme park view" category because the longhouse right in front of it does kind of stick out a bit as you're looking straight ahead on the balcony, but not nearly so much as to block the view.

As much as I love the Poly, if I was going to put up money for a "theme park view" anywhere, it would be in a tower room at the Contemporary (which I've yet to stay at).

Agree on the Park View Rooms at the Contemporary. We've been fortunate enough to stay at the CR, Poly and for the first time at the GF and the only resort at which I would pay for the Park View is the CR. Yes, some will say it's also the most expensive parking lot view room as well, but in my opinion, still the best view in all of WDW.
