I'll be arrivng at Poly in 2 weeks. I only booked a garden view. DH and I will have our 2 boys with us (4 and 21mo). I want to call and request a longhouse, but am having a hard time deciding which one I'd prefer. I think I'd like the views at Fiji but the location of Samoa. For all you Poly experts out there which would you pick? THANKS!

I was in Tahiti and LOVED the location. Quick walk to the TTC to catch the direct monorails and any bus direct to the parks. Again, LOVED it.

Tokelau is also a good (convenient) choice.

Samoa was pretty busy day and night, with the CGH, pool and beach being so close.

Fiji, I thought, had the best views but was quite far from the CGH and TTC, although you are near the boat launch.

All in all, I think you'll enjoy it no matter which longhouse you are in - the Poly is absolutely breathtaking.

Far? How far? I've been all over "tiki man's" site and it didn't look like more than a few minute walk.

Sorry, I meant to say Fiji is close to the CGH but on the opposite side of the property from the TTC. Compared to say POR or CBR, Fiji to TTC would be from the farthest location to the main building. Most of the longhouses are quite larger than the buildings at POR or CBR. Plus, you have to walk around the marina to get to the Volcano pool. Not bad, but there are more convenient locations. But if you are wanting the view, then Fiji is not to be beat.

Enjoy! :)

Hi! We always request Fiji because the views are wonderful. I never found it far from the GCH at all. It is a bit of a walk to the TTC, however. We always book a garden view, but often get a view of the marina and pool. If you request Fiji, be sure to ask for a balcony or patio, since the second floor rooms have neither.

We are thinking that it may not exactly be pool weather. So don't feel the need to be close to the pool, we just hope to use it once or twice. We also plan to spend 3 days at MK, 1 at EPCOT and 1 at DHS. We figure with most of our time being spent at MK we also didn't need to be right next to TTC. We are looking for a good view though so sounds like Fiji might work. We also ABSOLUTELY want a balcony so we will will also ask for a 3rd floor room no matter what longhouse we either choose or end up with.

We've somehow ended up in Rarotonga a bunch of times when we have a garden view, and I really like it because it's SO close to the Great Ceremonial House, so getting to food and to the monorail is a snap. (Although, I must confess, after being spoiled silly in Hawaii this last time, I don't know if I can stay anywhere else at the Poly now )

I have only stayed at Tokelau but liked the location. It is close to one of the pools and the CH etc...I really don't think you can go wrong at the POLY. The rooms are very spacious and updated, you will be very spoiled staying there. Have a great time!

I worked at the Poly and I always tried to get guests into Fiji because I always thought they had the best views and was still pretty close to the GCH. Also very close to the boat to the MK. For a while the problem was it was an older building that used to allow smoking and it took a long time to get that smell out, but I don't think it is a problem anymore. Go with Fiji!
