I don't think it is impossible for WDW to build a 5th park. They just don't need one right now. But I strongly feel that by the WDW's 50th Anniversary in 15 years, there probably will open a new park as part of the celebration. As for staffing, I have no idea where people have heard that. I think Disney is staffed just fine. The only thing is that there are a lot of part-time employees who only work there for the Disney benefits, who really don't belong there or look like they are enjoying it.

I don't believe in the 5th park idea right now. In my mind Animal Kingdom is still in a building phase and needs more attractions...rides, not shows. Also, MGM could eliminate the backlot tour which is really poor now. Also, the studio that used to host the Doug Live On Stage show is empty which needs to be filled.

No new WDW parks until the current 4 are completed!

:king:

it is impossible to complete a disney park. such is one of the principles indicated in walt's disneyland opening day speech. but yes more or less i agree with you, i believe a 5th park will happen one day when they can get attendance ( and quality rides attractions etc.) up in the current for parks they will go for a fifth park.

Dear Disney,

Please don't even think of a 5th park right now. You have much to fix and add to the current line up. Since you've asked, here is what is needed:
MK: It's been awhile since the last E-ticket. How about one? Pretty please?
EP: Please upgrade and open WoL, upgrade UoE and SSE, completely revamp the Imagination Pavillion from bottom to top, improve the Mexico ride, and add one or more of those planned WS attractions.
MGM: More needs fixing there than I want to even write about.
AK: Dark rides! Please! One more E-ticket and maybe even another land.

Thanks!

Your Friend,
Pinto

The poll shows 85% for more attractions, and yes especially at DS and AK. If/when another park is added, it would be even more difficult to do WDW in a week's vacation. It's just about perfect now to see all you want in the existing parks, hit DD and still have time to relax and enjoy the pool at the resort a bit.

I only say no to a dual-land setup at the Studios because I think there'd be a break in the :magic" if I walked off the Backlot Tour, turned right and landed in Mysterious Island. That park has ALWAYS been geared toward entertainment. Building something on to the park that's not themed to studios or entertainment would probably confuse a lot of people. And it'd be a pain to name.

I agree with you on this. DisneySea is not joined with Studios in Tokyo. They are too different to pair up, and are entirely different parks by themselves. They need to stick to the entertainment theme.
Although, if Disney DID want to make a 5th park they could consider making a WDW version of DisneySea. Overall, new attractions and rennovations should be done to the other 4 before they should even consider a 5th gate.

Part time people are the wave of Disney's future. Its just cheaper for them even with benefits.

If Disney felt it were adequately staffed, there would not be constant advertisements looking for employees. For a couple of years after 9/11, we didn't see those because they had more than enough people knocking on the door to fill the few open positions. That is no longer the case. The halls at casting just arent as full as they once were.

In this labor market, you take the best people you can get. Unfortunatley, your best applicants now were probalby your worst applicants 2 years ago. Even Disney has to sometimes take what they can get. You just can't live in this town on 7 dollars an hour anymore.

It's interesting, when i posted this poll, i didn't quite expect four pages!
I did expect slightly more people to go with more attractions over a new park, but i didn't expect quite this LANDSLIDE!
Ok, so the overwhelming majority of us would rather see enhancements to the current setup, so why do we have so many threads about new parks? I'm not making any kind of observation really, just noting something interesting.
