It will definitely make them money, now and for the long haul.

see, the “loyal” fan base will get older and stop going someday anyway…..it’s the “new” base that come along and don’t know the “old” ways, and will be perfectly content spending for fast passes, never knowing they were free wayyyyy back in the 2010s.

What new base? Uni is developing a fan base! Disney is not fostering any kind of loyalty from guests, say Uh like from the days we emerged from caves like the 2010's.

I'm guessing up and coming adults/parents, Gen Z and younger Millennials - many of whom prioritize experiences over things and grew up with the Disney Channel/Disney Jr. on their tvs.

Meanwhile the Boomer and Gen X generations are becoming grandparents, meaning they have a new emotional reason to want to take family vacations to Disney, and they may (or may not) have more disposable income and perhaps less inclination to wait in lines.

Got it. Speaking as a grandparent that grew up w Disney (yes, from the original Mickey Mouse Club in black and white days) I can say my children do not see Disney the way my wife and I see it and my grandchildren definitely see it all differently. For me, myself and I the quality of the experience and product has declined, my children find it fun / enjoyable but easily move on to other destinations with no (I need to come back) and my grandchildren don't see Disney any different than Uni, Legoland, Sea World, Busch Gardens or Six Flags, you got it! Just Another Amusement Park. Oh just to clarify, at my age I am not in a rush and do not mind waiting in line as the lines move quite rapidly plus w declining attendance are getting shorter.

Certainly not everyone of a specific age group is going to have the same wants, needs, expectations, or priorities.

However, I think Disney decision makers believe there is no shortage of new market.

It's a bit of a gamble for them, but historically (minus a few times in WDW's history) there's always been a crowd at the door. At some point the gamble may not pay off ("I've never broken my arm, therefore my arm is unbreakable") and they may need to do some major adjustments. I think a lot of us would like to see that happen, but in the meantime...
